Car still looks amazing. Except for the replica wheels.

Love the new DD.

Ordered some stuff:

Koyo 48mm Radiator HH021568 (I am currently running an older 36mm)

Cosworth Intake Manifold Carbon Fiber Cover (Super rare part)

Optima Red Top Battery 9020-164 (My generic autozone **** battery is on its last leg)

Red Line 75W140 NS GL-5 Gear Oil 2qt's (OS Giken Diff is past due for a fluid change)

Plews Fluid Pump (For diff fluid)

Motul 15w50 Oil and Nissan Oil Filter

Zerex Asian Antifreeze 1 gallon

My Z is about to take a long nap so I just wanted to do a bit of maintenance and upgrade the cooling.

I've had heating issues for many years in my Z and I was finally able to fix it last night. We removed my old 36mm Koyo and replaced it with the new Koyo 48mm. The installation wasn't hard but bleeding the system was a pain in the ***. We couldn't get rid of an air pocket. We ended up jacking the front of the car up very high and coolant was finally able to circulate the entire car and started spewing out the bleeder valve. We let the car run in my garage for 30 mins to see how it handled heatsoak and it stayed between and the operating range was 70-80celcius. This is amazing because my car would normally idle at 90celcius so the temp drop was significant. Can't be happier wish I had bothered to upgrade the radiator sooner.

I also started to play around with the interior and I want to mount my dual wideband and e85 gauge properly. I bought a double din gauge pod for 52mm gauges and since it was mild steel i was able to bend it slightly to make it fit in the cubby. I think maybe wrapping it in cf or maybe just overlaying the whole cubby area with a piece of carbon and ripping off the door thingy that pops up.

Thoughts?

Still one of my favorite Z's on here. Glad you've held on to it

The cubby door is actually pretty easy to remove (just a couple springs and screws) once you pop the waterfall off. I thought about taking mine off back when I have my center console wrapped in the 3M CF stuff, but it leaves about a 2 inch gap above the cubby, kind of an eye sore, so I left it in.

There's a DIY floating around somewhere on here about removing the waterfall, I'd just recommend taking pics of the springs, so it's easier to put them back in if you decide to put cubby door back in.

I like the 03-05 retractable cubby door so much better than the 06 flip up, don't really know the reasoning behind that change Definitely interested to see which route you take with the gauges though.

Have you thought about making a pod that covers the entire cubby hole? I had one made for an 04 that fit well. Or possibly removing the door assembly and continuing the pod up and expanding it further and wider to the black trim all around.

Yes covering the entire cubby hole with a sheet of CF would be similar to what you are thinking.

Went to Nismo Fiesta today in San Antonio. Car ran great no heating issues at all, new radiator handled temp fluctuations like a champ.
