Purchase from Dan @ Speed Concepts.
I've already filed a claim with UPS.
Wow .. i wouldnt even take that up with UPS .. i would just mail it back to speed concepts. Ask them if they think its an acceptable way to package something such as an IC.

I tried that but Speed Concept will not cover it unless UPS pays them. That packaging is how they receive it from Greddy/Trust. They second FMIC I received was re-packaged by Speed Concept to point where it was hard to even open lol. Needless to say there were no dents this time. I would def call Speed Concept and speak with Dan though.

I've already went that route. This isnt the first time its happened to them. I lost my cool at first, but realized its not going to help. UPS was called--they will come there and contact Speed Concepts since the packages were insured.
A real ***** but what can you do?

Dan was the first person I spoke with. My first issue was how this was shipped! Who packages a fragile piece like an IC with other metal objects?! So freaking dumb! Anywho--he told me to contact UPS. I just jope it doesnt take longer than the 3 weeks you mentioned.
At what point did they take the damaged merchandise?

NYC? You'll need to bring it out to SI's Tuesday meets when you finish...my Z gets very lonely.

You won't want/need more than 500 DD, the cost tends to skyrocket as pretty much everything powertrain needs to be upgraded...you can still brag about 600+ engine horsepower.

LOL--Im right in Brooklyn. I'm prepared to drop the coin on the motor to be built. What numbers it puts out--we shall see.
Update from UPS--They jerked me off today telling me they didnt have the correct address! How in the freaking hell do you deliver stuff to me and tell me you have the wrong address? They are just borderline pathetic. Tomorrow I will call them all day untill they come. After that I 'll call Dan @ Speed Concepts

They can start early next week. If they need the car for a week to do the build, I dont need my car sitting there for an unspecified time. Hopefully I can get some type of answer from Speed Concepts and UPS by early next week

Update: UPS had it schedule to pick up today. Sat home all day and they never showed up! I called 5x during the day and all they can say is its scheduled for pickup today. Well, being that its 9:30pm now, It's safe to say he's not coming.
Next: Dan @ Speed Concepts finally makes his first call to UPS after 5 days! As everyone should know, he is no longer a vendor here.
This is starting to become a real problem..

Well--I called again today just to find out what the hell is going on. UPS now tells me someone will be by on MOnday to pick it up! I sure hope its my driver who screwed me the last 3 days! You kind of get the feeling that UPS doesnt want to be responsible for damaged merchandise. Th ecustomer service from Speed Concept as well as UPS is HERENDOUS!
MDHRZ--FYI--Dan told me your damaged IC got replaced faster than normal! If I have to wait more than 3-4 weeks, Speed Concepts will be getting this whole kit back!

This is why I'm pretty much done buying expensive stuff online... It just way too easy for them to jerk you around when stuff goes wrong

Well after waiting for 7 days--UPS finally picked up the Intercooler! Now I need to wait till they contact Speed Concepts to reimburse them for the damaged merchandise!
I think Speed Concepts policy on this matter is pure CRAP! You sell a product, you are responsible for that product. They should send out a new Intercooler immediately!! According to Dan @ Speed Concepts, They have to be issued a check number before they can send out the replacement. Merchants are responsible 100% for what they sell. Sure makes it seem like it's my problem and not there's!!
My car goes in at the end of the week for the build. Lets see how long Speed Concepts & UPS will drag this out before they replace the damaged Intercooler.

Makes me wonder if they send out damaged merchandise and then blame it on UPS. They should be inspecting the IC before it leaves and adding some extra packaging for protection.
