Turbonetics Single Turbo Kit on an 04 350z with 50k+ miles

As the title says, do you guys think its safe to do? Or will I just blow my motor up as soon as I do it? Let me know.

hellsoldiers08 10-31-2010 11:10 PM

yes it will blow up and you will die :)

Why don't you do some research?

SamSpicer 11-01-2010 04:02 AM

lol please do not go with the Turbonetics kit on your Z it truly is a terrible choice. However to answer your question, boosting a 50k Z will not blow it up. A proper installation and ECU tune is the biggest factor in blowing up your motor.

What's so bad about the turbonetics kit?

garbage for quality, and very outdated kit..much much better options...

the kits dont hold up very well, pipes cracking etc. turbo's are garbage and blow seals all the time, the t-netics flash is garbage so it would require a different ems to tune properly...Just a very bad choice..

DO RESEARCH

u obviously dont know much so start searching

I did TONS of research, supporting mods, etc and boosted mine at around 56K miles. It blew up 3000 miles later.

You are a retard who cant help himself, so you will of course fail harder than I.

^lmfao!

Im at 3k miles on mine now LOL! Alberto what kind of tune were you on? Also what was your AFR? I have faith that mine will last untill at least 5k!

djamps 11-01-2010 06:18 PM

Unlike most people Alberto actually drives his car hard. Thus if fail is in the future (e.g. pretty much any TN build) he will accelerate it.

I have a built motor with a gtk 650 turbo on a TN kit. I have about 18k miles on it. Still pulls good.

twitch579 11-01-2010 08:06 PM

How much boost/hp are you running?

mrkplatt 11-01-2010 09:22 PM

Installed the TN kit on my '04 Z 3-years ago. Scrapping it and going GReddy TT. Had seal issues in my TN kit. Not throwing good money after bad...

If your going to go with a single turbo diff get the powerlabs. very nice kit boost's hard and pulls hard. should get you to about 380-420 whp on stock motor depending on your tune. If your a local boy or somewhat close to Frederick MD go see ray at PFS he will hook you up.

And again miles arent that big of a deal its luck, chance, etc... however a great install and tune makes all the difference.

Anyway man if your serious hit up intensepower.com grab the powerlabs then hit up pfsupercars.com and call Ray. good luck and happy boosting:thumbup:

My buddy has had tn kit in his g for 3 years now not had one problem has been running 8lbs just bumped up to 8.6 like 6 months ago. All about how you drive it take car of it and your tune. He is tuned by jtran with the Osiris tin. And runs great puts 380 whp on. 3 years on stock internals

bealljk 01-27-2017 02:53 PM

Had my turbonetics kit for 6k now.
cant complain because of the price.
some issues ive had were leaks. cheap gaskets and v-band clamps which were included in the kit had to be replaced.
after installing the turbo i thought something was wrong since i was getting 0 boost. Reason was because the ecu was stock.
some lag. (first turbo build)

Im currently at 7psi.
car is much quieter compared to stock.
Keep in mind most tuners will use osiris tuner software which goes for 750+ tuner fee.
I was able to find a tuner which reflashes your ecu without osiris. ($350)

additional upgrades
forged rods
wiseco pistons
600cc injectors
act clutch
walbro fuelpump
I plan on installing a cutout, onceinstalled I plan to increase boost to 15psi.
