Very mellow - slightly louder than stock maybe (don't really remember "stock" anymore!). At WOT they are still quieter than the v2 shockwave but obviously they are both straight through pipes at that point, so both way louder than stock. Still, I suspect it will be too quiet for most folks. I like the fact that I can now listen to music at low volume levels and use bluetooth to carry on phone conversations without issue cruising around town.

Replaced the axle back from the v-band flange. I got some weld-able v-band flanges from Tony and the above mufflers and clamps from Summit Racing and my exhaust shop did the rest (for $300).
I'll be at ZdayZ and the airstrip if you want to see/hear them in person. Although there shouldn't be a performance hit (and I don't feel any difference), until I dyno the two (shockwave v2 vs Dynomax VT) I won't know for sure. So I'm not selling my v2 until I get that done.

I've had both. First I had the 2.5" primaries that opened up to 3" and then I got the full 3" set up. They are quite different set ups. The 2.5" uses the XYZ pipe that takes 2.5" pipes that come together to form a single 3.5" or 4" pipe and that single goes into a muffler that splits out tp two 2.5" pipes that then expand to 3". The 3" uses separate 3" pipes that goes to a dual 3" in/out X pipe muffler.
I also went from the shockwave v1 axle back to the v2 and now also have had a custom muffler axle back set up fabricated...

The sound for both versions really depend on the axle back components you put on it. The shockwave v2 (with the side resonators) is a very clean tone, modest at cruise but loud at WOT and no drone to speak of. The shockwave v1 is similar to the v2 but it has significant drone below 2500 rpms. My new custom Dynomax VT axle back has no drone, is very quiet at idle and cruise, and moderate at WOT (i.e. quieter all around).
I think 95% of folks will love the TDX 3" with shockwave v2 axle back. I'm very conservative when it comes to noise and although it is still a bit too loud for me, it is a wonderful note for spirited runs.

I think highway cruising with the v2 is very mild. Getting rid of drone is key! After having some time with the Dynomax VT, I will say that there is a definite small hit in performance. Turbos spool slower and max power is down about 15 whp - not bad but it's there and it's across the rpm range.
