More Power out of the GT28's
I havent been on here for a long time. my car has been parked and collecting dust for a while. (in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) expect a little more than dust.
Anyway, I decided that i would start it up and go to my local shop and get it cleaned up and retune. mods: Twin Turbo GT28 custom fabbed. originally was JWT530 kit BC 727 Cams 800cc injectors Haltech (ooooh how much i love this ems) our pump gas here is around 89-90 US rating. and the weather (95F at night) and humidity (to the point its hard to breathe) today really sucked. I am pleased with the results @ 17PSI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HE-_7hm3FSQ |
GT2871r's are good to about 1.2-1.3bar so about 550-600whp deppending on tune ?
|
Great Numbers! (especially considering your octane and humidity) How well are the DW 800s keeping up at that power level? Care to share any specs on those custom GT28s?
|
true, but this mainline dynometer is really a heartbreaker when it comes to numbers.
i was on a dynoDynamics with my old set up and got around 460rwhp on the GT25s and on this dyno it gave me only 412rwhp. i am not saying that i broke a record here, soon i will be going to a dynojet and see the difference. but i seen this dyno on even late model muscle cars. LS3 Camaros stock put out only 320rwhp max.

standard gt2871s nothing special about this.
what i did with my piping was custom (alot shorter than original JWT design) regarding the DW800cc they are just fine under 80% DC the real power came out of the cam timing. really amazing what it can do. the car feel crazy all the way through the power band.

Is it just me, or was that car not even close to being adequately secured to that dyno?! It was rocking back and forth A LOT more than I have seen on other videos, plus they let two guys sit on the back. At about 37sec mark, it looks like it is close to climbing out. Maybe I am being paranoid, but I would not go anywhere near that thing.

i could have been tied better thats for sure. i agree, lazyness i guess. the strap needed to be tied better.

Original JWT intercooler with 2.25" piping? I presume you mean 272 cams. Nice #s. Unless you change the IC, I don't think you'll be able to go any higher.

gt 28s witht he bigger ar are good to 700 according to gtm?

I'm curious of your cooling mods for your car

engine oil cooler i have canceled the water lines going to the turbo's. with the heat here, i would rather change out a bad turbo other than opening the block |
Numbers? Sorry can't open YouTube at work.
|
570rwhp @ 17 PSI. on Mainline dyno, dynojet add 10% since we have tried out other cars.
|
Nice numbers man. GL.

^Thanks buddy

so you are not water cooling your water cooled turbos?
what do you mean opening the block? you dont touch the block to run water lines... :dunno:

simple oil cooled for the turbo's only. when i had the water lines going to the turbos on average i was around 30-40 degrees hotter coolant temps.
god forbid something happening to the water lines, it would affect my motors cooling. plus i saved that extra mess with all those lines coming from all directions.
