The Ginger's 18G GReddy TT "Build"
Figured I would go ahead and make a build thread, why not...
Bought the car in May 2008 with ~46,000 miles on it Began modding with basic bolt ons Boosted it November 2010 with ~63,000 miles on it I bought the kit used off of JAM3Z, basically how it went down was I was in Iraq at the time trying to decide which route I would go with my Z when I got back. I decided I would start contacting local shops to see what used kits they had laying around. When I contacted CIN in Charlotte they informed me someone had just called the other day looking to have their TT kit uninstalled. So I got in contact with this person(JAM3Z) and negotiated which parts I wanted and for how much. Next we figured out a date to drop the cars off and let the swap begin, I would take the aftermarket parts and he would take my stock parts, couldnt have asked for it to go any smoother. Last dyno'd at 388WHP/363WTQ on a Mustang dyno. Almost forgot, just took it to a local 1/2 mile airstrip event. Most of my trap speeds were between 130 and 135 MPH. Video below, notice me getting my ass handed to me by a 475whp 440 wtq Camaro SS :gotowned:

Looks good man. Are you just running the 440's?
Let me know if you want to sell those those dp's, I like the loudness. :) |
Nice build. That's pretty much what I'm planning on as well. Just waiting on a few more mods and rebuilt turbos to return.
Congrats and enjoy |

Let me know if you want to sell those those dp's, I like the loudness. :) As for the dumps, I think I'm just going to have them tied back into my downpipes. Also, this is my first FI car and if anything I'm doing is just plain dumb PLEASE let me know! |
IMO man, get water/meth injection, cams and just try to maximize the stock block. I think that will yield you enough power and a wider band, which could make you happier than a built nasty car. Kinda wish I went that route atm. If you go built, I'd recommend getting a haltech or some other high end ecu.
I'd just look at getting a bit more timing or maybe a few more pounds of boost and elongating that nice powerband out to like 7k. |
There she is. Probably the cleanest '03 I've seen since...'03!
|
Congrats Ging!! Im glad CIN took care of you. Nice numbers

The limit is always the rods in a stock block build. 1500$ plus labor (which is a good amount of labor) there is a lot more he can do besides cams. Hell, he could probably be close to purchasing a new built shortblock for the cost of cams and labor. beautiful car. i wish i knew how to keep my car that clean and shiny |
Thanks for the compliments fellas. CIN did an amazing job on everything.
The plan is to eventually buy a built long block/piece one together over time that I know can take a beating, then move on to other power adders. Right now I am perfectly satisfied with my power level, its a blast to drive still. Not to mention I can sleep easy at night knowing that the chances are I'm not going to blow my car up when I drive it(Knock on wood). Also I need some work in other areas of the car before I add more power i.e. brakes, coilovers, etc. |
Nice looking car man. Those rear wheels look mean
|
I see you have a SC plate...do you live here?
Did you get his wheels too or did you already have the lmgt4's? Your evo tt exhaust should also have the bottle neck removed which is an added bonus. I am looking to reroute my open dumps as well but still have some cutouts for when I do want it to get loud. |
ride is clean, gota love the blue Zs. NICE!!!!!
 |
looks good

I had the wheels before, thought it was funny he had a set as well that he tried to sell me. I actually considered it so I could have 9.5s all the way around. You know cutouts would be a great idea. Thats something I might look in to. |
Good for you! The car looks great and those are some sweet pictures. In terms of "are you doing anything dumb" I wouldn't call it dumb, but it looks like your e-brake could use an adjustment. I hope it all works out and you continue to have fun with the car.

Car looks great! If you are happy with it and everything runs perfect... enjoy it :) If you are looking for more power, let us put a Haltech on it with bigger injectors. The result would be more power and a safer setup (more consistent tune, overboost protection, etc). You will need those mods with a built motor down the road, so you would be heading the right direction and have a little more power in the meantime. I see Cinci in your location... we are about an hour south of you there - let us know if we can help with anything.
