I drove this time as did Tadishi. 5 runs about 6 flashes I think. Really worked my car and fuel system.

Stock Internals top and bottom,
Crawford Plenum
Borla Headers, RT Cat Pipes, Borla true dual.
P.E. 380CC Injectors

"My car's timing is absolutely perfect." Tadishi said...

11 PSI at 7k rpm's fuel was leaving the 12's on the stock pump but it was and still is the fastest car I have ever driven in my life. Just too lean on the stock fuel pump. Maxxed out.

MAF didn't matter it stays open loop.

I am going back to 8-9 PSI which the stock fuel pump can maintain from 11.5 to 12.4 all the way to 6700 rpm's.

To be safe it is suggested you add a Walbro 155 that slips right in the stock location then mount the SARD FPR right next to it then run a vacuum line up to the front (all from the stock location.)
About $270 each (roughly.) Returned the SARD for personal and fitment reasons.

Victor Reyes at RB Motoring sells both items you need if you want more fuel pump , Tadishi and Danny (Technosquare ) both agree with Victor the Walbro/SARD Combo is solid and it sounds like Adam from Z-1 does too.

Saw 3 more Skylines, LOVE LA!

Now some out there may say Walbro fails and is loud etc etc but I think I will agree with the guys building, racing and tuning the cars in real life over Internet Rumors.

Besides my car runs better than it ever has and just hit 12k miles. The “noise" should be describes as a whine, my car is so friggen loud anyways should we whine about whine with race cars?

This is not a toot my horn post this is a; I hope someone learns from this post. Hopefully I don't need a friggen flame suit for posting this.

I know Skidazzle had asked about 10 psi on stock internals, I did 11, of course I didn't stay there but I know what it feels like! Like a 200 direct port shot except your tires hook, at least mine did.
My plugs were a little white with stock pump at 7k rpm's. Not safe.

As for shifting especially WD, Gurgen, Sunset Z etc,

The FP drops just prior to shifting, so it is not wise to do what I had planned (raise mine A/F up from 11.5 to 11.8, because when you shift it goes even higher, even the Japanese TT Supra's do this so I hope this helps. A5T's on boost, you need more fuel and better timing, however you decide to get it. I knew it was shifting better by adding torque and I knew it wasn't the tranny so I guess in part I was right about the boost because of the fuel drop at shift, I was on the right track anyway.

Good Luck and I hope this helps someone.

Thanks to Victor Reyes (RB Motoring), Tadashi, Danny (TS), EJ (in my car club and helped me with my plenum and plugs et al, Doug (Crawford Racing) and Mike at Altered Atmosphere.
No sponsors no stickers all my own cash.

As for the 9 lb kit, on a stock Z it is probably more like 14 PSI with the two pulleys I was given (see the pulley teeth thread) so **disclaimer** boost at your own risk, I live on the edge, I don't think others should, I think 7 PSI with correct timing and fuel is plenty of boost. I could go on and on about what I learned in my two days in LA but I am behind in my sleep rolled in about 230am.

Later and nice to meet Mr. T, his car is off the hook! Also got to roll with Tadishi in his car with the radical cams! FUN!!!!

Thanks Max for your post. I was looking forward to hearing about your car today.
I know you have done this, but please give me a $ breakdown on the injectors. I want to say it was $8XX from Victor. I'm sure I will be calling him shortly then laying down $600 for the ECU flash.
Also, what did Tadashi think of the plenum? I have thought about it some more and I think I may wait and opt for the VBU. Unless, Tadashi thinks it is a fuel/timing for sure. Did Tadashi change any shift points on your car? I wonder if he would give me the MAX flash? You have headers, C plenum and lower octane gas. Other than that (after I buy the injectors) we are pretty much the same.
I'm going to go count my teeth. I made just over 7psi when I dynoed back in August. I'm thinking the cats will lower that figure slightly. Anyway, congrats. I'm glad things worked out for you in LA. Believe me, if I didn't live in the mid west I would have been there with you.

Shoot me an email bro. Injectors are down to about 760 I think.

Congratulations! That'll be one fast car.

I'm a little confused though on your fuel pump situation. I understand you returned the SARD and will be running 9 PSI of boost. You mention some stuff about the Walbro pump, but I can't figure out if you have already installed it, are planning on installing it, or if you are staying stock and simply recommending that people with high boost seriously consider a fuel pump as an added safety factor?

Is your plan any of the above, or did I completely miss what you were saying?

Thanks, and have fun with your car!
D'oh!

I am stock until I see if I can obtain 9 psi at 6800 rmps
if I can't I need to add the pump and regulator
tomorow EJ is coming over to do some test readings
with me on different pulleys.

If I can stay below 9psi I can safely keep the stock pump.

I am guessing at the boost numbers until I try it.

I forgot to bring my small pulley to TS didn't think I would need it.
I brought both large omes.

So tomorow I will know more and post.

I want more fuel anyway and this is a sneak cheat way of me buying time till I get another check haha then of course I want more fuel pump if it's maxxed out.

That stock pump sure flows though!

Don't want to do all thast FPR stuff less I have too.

MY IC Hose was loose when I made 6 PSI so I do not know what that prior tooth connection will do with it being tight.

Gotta run

I just made a stomp from 3k on a freeway roll at about 55mph to WOT from about 25k to 6k I made friggen 10 pounds of boost.

I am going to go change the pulley now.

Lol. 9 pound kit, what a joke, how about a we don't know you tell us kit....????

AxionF117 Jan 16, 2004 10:15 AM

and people blame ATI ;)

I would seriously be careful boosting that high on stock compresion

12SecZ Jan 16, 2004 11:00 AM

really? How come?

alienx Jan 16, 2004 12:29 PM

Sounds like a hell of a lot of fun! What times did you get (if I didn't miss it in the note somewhere)?

12SecZ Jan 16, 2004 12:37 PM

In LA they just race down the street lol if the cops come you just out run them then get in a big shoot out.

The day I was there an Armored Truck was robbed and shots were fired by both sides.

I wasn't on a track I was on Normandie lol!!

Sorry, I just love it down there.

I am going to the track Feb 4th here in Nor Cal, it would have been a low 12's run. My tires were Falken 451's and are pretty sticky. A small pebble got stuck in them when they were hot lapped and it went in about 1/8 inch lol on the stock tires it would of shot out at someone like a bullet and cracked their wind shield.
Yeah it was fun but the drive is a bear if you go past LA on the 405/10 to RB Motoring then TS then the 405 back. It took me one hour to go 8 miles on the 405 to come home. Rush hour down there doesn't end till like 8pm and every car beside you is a race car hahaha!

You must have one hell of a good time driving that car! I guess you and all the other FI pioneers deserve that after all I've read in here!

Get some decent video of your drag runs and I'll host it if you need it!!

Will do and thanks for the host!
