Default calling for VQ35HR Stillen super charger owners | 07 Nismo only 350wHP

After purchasing a used stillen supercharger kit on the forum here and replacing this and that, I finally got the car back. It's a 07 350z Nismo. 53K miles. 205-210 after a compression test. The only supporting mods for the s.c. were highflow cats and a tanabe Y pipe. The oem nismo center and muffler was left on.

It only made 350wHP. I was hoping for 375. I believe the exhaust is limiting it and wanted to check with everyone else to see if this was the case?

Shower beers!

Are you on the stillen tune ? I've read that to get power out of this kit you have to get a custom tune . I have the kit too and I plan on getting mine dyno tuned using uprev. If you are on the stillen tune beware I've read a lot of owners have issues with the stillen tune.

Who tuned the car?

What fuel are you using?

How much Boost?

What is your ignition timing full advance set at?

What is your ARF's in the Boost Range?

Generally, the Base Tunes that come with kits are crap and need retuning.

I made 324whp with my vortech and their base tune first time on the dyno. I have made many modification but maining rasing the boost and free flowing exhaust, but now the car makes about 540whp on 93 octane, and 577+whp on C16.

I am not on the stillen provided tune. I got a custom tune from Kaizen tunning in Boxboro Ma... a Nissan/Subaru/Mitubishi tuning shop. Of course... they work on a variety of other cars.

I'll get some more info from them when the calibrator gets back from vacation.

My Z is still not running correctly. Having idle issues. They mentioned the MAF voltage was a little bit higher, 1.3V i believe. This could be due to the resistance on the harnesses stillen provided to extend the MAF's to the front of the bumper.

Info i do know:
- The calibrators were Kaizen Tunning, LLC (Boxboro MA)- big GTR shop
-Fuel is 93 octane
-I am using the stock pulley that came with the kit. I believe it's 6-7 psi?
-Exhaust mods are HFC, Tanabe Y pipe (2x 2.5 in, 2.75 out) into the OEM Nismo exhaust (single 2.75")

Then it looks like everyone has confirmed what I thought. So 350 wHP looks like on spot for my current set up. I'll add a true dual exhaust, replacing the awkward intake to blower coupler and retune.

Haven't enjoyed it yet. I called the shop and they told me the car will idle for a small period of time then die. They have gone through everything and looks like they might trailer it to Nissan and have them hook up consult. Kind of annoying.

I purchased the kit used from a member here and he did not disclose that the charge core in the plenum leaked coolant. In my first dyno pull, the independent cooling system went under pressure due to this leak and at the end of the pull, went into vacuum and sprayed my cylinders with coolant.

They took it apart... compression and leak down test. Numbers were 205->210.. leakdown was just below 10%. They then dyno'ed the 2nd time and was 350. After the 2nd dyno pull, car has idle issues.

Idle Issues are all related to tuning, and can easily be corrected provided the tuner knows what they are doing.

This is of course assuming that all other aspects of your motor are working properly.

350whp is great for 6-7 psi. What's the issue here?

After the second dyno pull, they test drove the car and it was fine. It was not until later. The front bumper was off the car with a brand new K&N intake filter. It rained the day before and the filter was most likely wet... sucking in the K&N filter oil + moisture.

Replaced the MAF's and idle is still rough.

I was only curious to see what other's were seeing with a custom tune. I figured if I upgraded the exhaust, i could get closer to the 365-370 range.
