Single turbo can't pass emissions?!
Hello Z/G drivers
I'm trying to pass emissions here in Washington, but keep failing for the OBDII test. I have a single turbo 04 Z that gets the common check engine light for a random misfire, and O2 sensors bank 1&2. So I can't pass with the CEL on, and if I clear the codes i get a fail due to readiness monitors being ''NOT READY''. I won't be able to drive on the road after June if i can't get it passed
If anyone with some insight on the matter could give me a hand it would be greatly appreciated.?
Thanks, Ryan

Unless you can establish that you know how to repair a boosted engine in more than one (your first) post, then please, take your car to a performance shop and have it checked out. There are a bunch of them in your area and it's going to be a lot easier on you and your wallet to just have a professional wrencher figure it out.
You haven't given us nearly enough information about your car to make an internet diagnosis with. At the very least, did your car pass emissions two years ago with the same turbo set-up?

What? The engine doesn't need to be repaired. I slapped the turbo on myself, I'm just getting a nuisance CEL as stated in previous threads:https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...s-install.html
I'm going to contact Intec racing(my tuner) to see if uprev can turn off certian CEL.

Ok. You're getting a random misfire code. So check your injectors and coils one by one. I'm sure you know how to do that, right? ..and your O2 sensors, bank 1 & 2. So replace them. And yeah, you'll always fail the readiness check within 30 miles after you clear the ECM.

Get O2 spacers done and done. Reset the light and drive till the monitors are ready.

If you are tuned with UpRev, take out both the O2 sensors out . Have the tuner turn off the codes for the O2 sensors and you shouldn't throw a light for that ever anymore. Granted it the vehicle will be "NOT READY" for the O2 sensor part. Hopefully everything else on your car is good so it will be "READY".
Thats what I did for my car and I can pass all the time.

I passed!
My tuner at intec racing just loaded an emissions tune. Not sure what he changed, but i dont get any codes anymore, plus my hot start issue is fixed with the new uprev update that came out this past week.
