Link G4+ Kurofune

http://www.linkecu.com/products/wire...s/g4-kurofune/

Just curious if anyone is running this EMS? I am thinking about getting rid of my FCon and this EMS uses the harness so it would be a plug and play swap, just don't know if it will also utilized all my sensors that I have currently running to the Fcon (AFRx2, Knock, oil press, oil temp, fuel press, etc)

I am thinking of either going with Haltech Pro, AEM Infinity, or Link G4.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks!

I can only comment on the 350z pro plug in. This is no longer receiving the attention from Haltech that it used to because the focus is now on the next generation of ECU (Elite). That said, I believe the 350z pro-plugin is the most cost-effective and fully functional solution for the 350z/G35 platform (take out stock ECU and plug in new one, retaining all CAN functions and stock sensors).

I think Link makes the best aftermarket ECU for the 350z but not very many (if any) people have it and it may be hard to get support.

Thanks for your reply Raj, are they going to be introducing an Elite Series PnP solution for the 350Z/G35 Platform as far as you know? Or is the Pro the last version for this platform?

Does the Haltech have built in traction control and knock amp? That is one thing I like about the Link system.

Bealljk,

Thanks for your input, do you have experience with the Link EMS on other platforms or do you run it on your current vehicle? Just wondering why in your opinion the Link EMS is the best?

Thanks!

I run an older OBDII compliant (for emissions) Haltech...I'm also $2500 into this haltech. Id prefer to spend any money (itd cost to upgrade my ECU) on other items.

I only know of Link from the high performance academy guys. I do their webinars and courses and they use the G4+ and it seems like a pretty inclusive ECU. And this isnt saying the haltech is bad or inferior.

But I dont know anyone on the forum or my local scene that runs a Link.

Got it, I also don't want to spend money on a new ECU but without the password for my FCon doesn't look like I can even reset it (I have the software but the FCon itself has a password)

I have also seen the HPA videos, haven't don't the paid stuff, wish these guys did this back in 2006! My buddy Gurgen self taught himself and wired/tuned a MoTeC M800 in his car, still has it as well.

If I am going to spend a few grand on a new EMS want to make sure it will integrate the most and get the most features for the money. I spent almost 6K on all my HKS EMS setup installed back in the day.

Thanks for your input!

RE: Elite, I think there is a harness available for purchase but I don't think it is a replacement unit for the stock ECU like the pro plug-in is. I think this is because the CAN has not been worked out for the 350z/G35 on the Elite. I doubt they will as the 350z/G35 platform is end of life and of course, they have an alternative, the pro-plug-in.

Raj,

Thanks for the reply, I was able to reset my Fcon last night luckily! Just going to work out some kinks then start tuning. Still want to upgrade though, Haltech with E85 sounds nice!

Cannot beat flex fuel if you've got an E85 pump around you!

Luckily I have an E85 pump near by so it is very convenient for me.

I have the Link g4+ plugin ECU support is excellent other than changing a few settings you just plug it in and start your Z, it's very flexible not much it wont do or let you control I bought mine when I went to an ITB setup runs the Drive by wire perfectly no issues I love it also it's a good price
:)

XBS 02-06-2018 10:57 PM

Hows the drive ability? How did you or your tuner like working with the software?

What DONT you like, also did you have an FCON before?

andybp 02-06-2018 11:25 PM

Drivability is excellent tuned it myself on the road from a supplied base map the software is pretty friendly the only thing that could be better really would be the ability to switch maps without being connected to a pc/laptop/tablet it can be done but it's not as straightforward as i'd like I installed a tablet in mine to make it easy to interface with the ECU without a laptop balanced on the passenger seat

Nice ITB setup and fabrication read your thread. Any gains?

No idea feels good great response sounds fantastic but never been near a dyno and no point right now as I'm re-doing it with BMW M5 throttle bodies maybe I'll get it dyno'd when it's done
:)

Nice do you have a baseline on your car before?

No it's never been dyno'd Mostly I do this stuff for fun so numbers aren't too important to me :)
