?s 4 the procharged Z's

I know a few members have the procharger (tuner kit) and a technosquare reflash, but I have a few questions.
1. Will the procharger work with stock injectors and a reflash
2. Or do I need the 380cc PE injectors also
3. Does Technosquare have the fuel and timing maps already on file so all I have to do is send in the ECU and put on the procharger
4. Has anyone had trouble with the procharger since the timing issue was solved
5. If there are other parts I need to make the kit run, what are they
6. What boost psi is the 7lb pulley making at 7000rpm

Thanks

1. No

2. Yes

3. Yes, but it will be more accurate if they can tune your car individually.

4. Not that I know of.

5. Wideband O2, boost gauge would be good.

6. ~7PSI at sea level

The wideband 02, boost and EGT gauges are not necessary to make it run. However, they would be nice to have for tuning (assuming your dyno doesn't have one). They are also nice for safety purposes however when there were problems with timnig the guys with 02 and EGT gauges still blew motors. All I have is a boost gauge, mainly to see if I ever have a boost leak.

thanx jesse english. Now where is the cheapest place to order the procharger and PE injectors? The PE injectors are very expensive, will the RC injectors work or is technosquare brand sensitive:p

I am running the "Tuner" kit along with others and have larger injectors to help deliver more fuel at a lower fuel pressure unlike the stock injectors at that same pressure. TS has several maps on file and your car would actually follow different maps during different load conditions. Therefore the ecu will vary timing, fuel and other factors based upon its sensors.

I have the TS 8lb program w/ PE380 and walbro 255. Couldn't keep fuel pressure after 6000rpms and it ran lean. Had to get boost compensated fuel pressure regulator. Installing is kind of tricky. I am currently "experimenting" with the regulator attached before the injectors but haven't had the best results consistly. For example I have to run slightly lower fuel pressure at idle in order to make higher fuel pressure under higher boost. I have to plug the stock regulator at some point and then the problem will most likely go away. Or I will have to attach the regulator to the rail after the injectors.

Has anyone else had a similar problem with the fuel pressure dropping or is this a freak occurance?

whosdady Jun 3, 2004 12:28 PM

When you increase boost this happens. With the stock kit at 7 PSI you should be fine.

Mike, I am having the same problem at 6K RPM @ 8PSI with the stock pump. I am going to try the walbro 255 pump and see that solves my problem. Otherwise a regulator is in my future.

I am selling my complete Procharger kit for $3500 if your interested...

Whosdaddy- have you fixed your probled with a new 255lph pump or are you still having the same problem with the fuel pressure falling after 6k rpms? I will have a procharger very soon and will like to increase the boost to 9lb pulleys. Thanks to all the procharged z's for experimenting and sharing the knoledge.

Problem fixed...You will need a new regulator and fuel pump. This is assuming you already have the TS flash and PE injectors and are running the ATI tuner kit...

Jesse: I have stock injectors and I have no problems here.

I am going with larger ones and a pump and the reflash for FI this summer but for now everything seems cool.
