Listing of FI Engine Failures... Let's Post them HERE!

I adopted this from the G35 forums, from a thread started by neffster and modified a little by me (props to neffster). Let's do this once and for all.... let's see what kind of failures we are getting and if there are any trends.... This should be pretty easy, the template is self explanatory... If you want... add more fields... but for simplicity's sake let's not modify the list too much. 19 points of information so far: Gurgen: 1. Car make/model: Infiniti G35 Sedan 2. Car manufacture date: April 02 3. Type of FI method: Twin Turbo Kit 4. Brand of FI: Power Enterprise 5. Boost level at time of failure: 5.7 psi 6. A/F at the time of failure: low 11's:1 7. Amt of timing retard/total timing advance at the time of failure: -5.1deg/~17deg total adv. 8. RPM at the time of failure: 4300 rpm 9. Fuel octane and (brand) used at the time of failure: 91 (Chevron) 10. Engine Management type: TS Reflash 11. Timing retard solution used (if separate from primary EM): J&S 12. Fuel system upgrade (full fuel return w/ FPR or stock returnless?): Full fuel return 13. Fuel pump used: PE 255L/hr 14. How much rwhp were you running: ~350 (at this psi level) 15. How much rwtq were you running: ~350 (at this psi level) 16. What failed: Rod (presumed - engine not dismantled yet) 17. Additional pertinent parts/equipment used: HKS EVC V Boost controller, AEM A/F meter (WB) 18. Was the car dyno-tuned: No 19. Was the car street-tuned: Yes |
