Turbo's and True Dual Exhaust?

Made my choice of buying the RSR exhaust (which is not a true dual) and I was wondering whether it was essential to have a True Dual with the APS TT setup or if it wouldn't make that much of a difference?

The only thing you can do is a back pressure test with the exhaust to see what you got... Just a FYI, but, I have been running the Borla dual exhaust with no muffler at all and in this short strip in front of my shop, I am only able to hit about 6lbs of boost on my APS kit. Well last night we were doing some exhaust swaps and I decided to take my car down the same strip with open exhaust! Thats right no cats, right from the down pipe basically which are about 5" long on the APS... In the same amount of street, I pulled 8lbs of boost... It just shows you how restrictive exhausts can be. So yes it can and will make a difference...

I just read your sig and it says you ran 12.10@114 @7lbs ?

WOW! Congrats dude those numbers are amazing. You must have pulled a quick 60ft!

I will have a single turbo setup soon and currently have Borla's TD exhaust. Should I go back to a single pipe style?

The best exhaust system (from a power perspective) for a turbocharged Z engine will have zero exhaust back pressure at high rpm/maximum power...............an exhaust system designed with this in mind will produce the best power/torque result across the entire rpm range as turbo boost will be at the optimum level faster - as the turbine wheels will come up to operating speed more quickly hence producing more turbo presure/greater mass air flow for the engine. :D

No doubt a true twin 2.5'' exhaust system with open straight through muffler design will produce the best possible power result and the lowest exhaust back pressure...............this is how APS designed, tested , and produced the APS true twin 2.5'' cat back exhaust system. :)

If you're going down the path of a Twin Turbo system hence greater performance and you have the budget then do yourself a favour and upgrade to a true twin exhaust system.

Not really necessary , the main restriction will be the Merge plumbing up to the head unit, not the "was" CAT flange back.
Unless you want a different sound etc.
