What's important?

To increase the safety margin of the APS (or any for that matter) TT kit, what is needed outside of the kit and gauges? Mostly concerned with the motor: rods, pistons...

Thanks.

If you got the extra money a J&S safeguard can add another level of safety from detonation damage., for example you get a bad tank of gas, the J&S can dial back timing (per-cylinder) in response to detected knock . The Unichip can't do this and the OEM ECM can't dial out enough timing to protect you from FI and a bad tank of gas.

Also run the best gas you can afford and have access to. If you can get 94 don't run 91 etc.

Also run a good synthetic motor oil. I favor Royal Purple , Redline or Amsoil. Change on short <5k intervals.
