6mt G VS WS6
Hi, just wanted to see what u guys think about this. Tonight i had a run in with a WS6 on the highway. Looked stock from what i could tell, had nice exhaust tips, looked like magnaflow. He pulled up beside me and wanted to play. So we both went around 150 kph, he pulled about 1/2 car till i got upto 5k rpm and then we were even till 220. I was shocked at how close i was, so i went beside him again and shifted into 4th at 140kph and waited for him. He shifted and went WOT and we were both dead even till 230. We tried one last time with the same result. He had his GF in the car while i was alone . All in all it was a good showing for the G. I cant wait to see how the 3/8 spacer helps the G on top end. Just wanted to get your opnions on this. Thanks in advance

It was probably a LT1 TA ('97 and older), which run low 14s to high 13s in the 1/4 mile. These are usually only SLIGHTLY faster. I ran with one from a rolling slow start to about 110ish & stayed about even.
You are right though, an LS1 TA ('98 and newer), WS6 or not would have smoked him pretty bad.

Thats what i am thinking, Its very hard to tell the difference in years and i know for a fact that it had a WS6 on the back of it. It might also be the gearing. I mean i have known alot of muscle cars that have shitty top end gearing. I'm not saying that my car can beat a WS6, just on this day it kept up

My buddy ha an Z28 and while we have never actually raced we have taken them both to their to speeds. We both felt like from about 125 to 145 the 350Z (I own a 350Z) was faster. But the Z28 can get to 125 way faster than the 350 there is no question about that. just my input.

I owned a v6 firebird and it was slow as hell AND it was locked at 190kph. Wouldn't the drag coefficient have something to do with you keeping up with that guy's TA?

And the Z does have great freeway gearing (if you can call 100+ freeway speeds).
Though despite all this...idk maybe he's lost compression in 2 cylinders?
I don't doubt this story at all. I just find it hard to believe that a Trans Am, in good condition, has trouble pulling on the Z.
Either way, as I stated above, I mos def believe you. Great kill.
*btw dont show this to the LS1 guys, are they'll have their pantys in a bunch

you are smoking....the ws6 is fast....and could possibly win....but acceleration times are identical....the fact the the guy had his GF in the car mad that a drivers race......remember 03-03 g35 street start 5-60 = 5.2...i.e. faster than the 0-60 of 5.5

No way in hell does a G35 Coupe or a Z stay anywhere close to a Trans Am from anything other than 0-15 MPH. Those things have a tremendous Torque/HP to weight ratio advantage compared to our rides. Once his tires stop spinning... you better wave "bye" quick, because it won't take too long before the WS6 is real far ahead of you.
