Does one pipe go on top of the M-brace, and the other below it? I feel dizzy.

BlackonBlackG35 01-03-2006 09:25 AM

did that and it still doesn't fit. I can't believe Borla would mess there pipes up like this?? I have a call into them so we shall see what they say.......

and believe me, the guy/guys looking at this are professionals........

Both pipes go above the M-Brace. The H-pipe pieces (3 and 4) are separate pieces correct? You can angle then so that the “H” is parallel with the ground, and fits together.

I know they go above the brace, but as you can see the left side is way too low. I mean yeah I can pay to bend pipes, but why when it should bolt up nice an d easy. you do see how low the left side is coming down off the cat right?

If you attempt to push the drivers side above the M-brace, it would put too much stress on the pipe. Is this correct?

I love my Borla TD(for the 350Z) but what Borla does bad is in packaging. What happened to you happened to me as well. What happened to me and it looks the same with you is that Borla gave you either TWO LEFT exhaust pipe or TWO RIGHT exhaust pipe. that is why the right pipe in the picture is in such a wierd angle.

Call up Borla and explain to them what happened.

In my situation, even though the right pipe had the sticker "R" on it, it was clearly the exact same angle as the left pipe. The local shop that I bought it from was very nice and ordered a new Borla TD for me and just switched the pipe with me and they took care of sending the bad one back.

Definately do not modify it in anyway, you just got TWO LEFT or TWO RIGHT pipe because of poor packaging.

LOL, lucky I decided to check this thread out on a whim since I don't have a G35.

EDIT: I just notice that in your first picture, you have the left pipe on the right passenger side and the left , probably to see if you switched sides, maybe it would work.

EDIT 2: Actually, Have you tried just switching those pipes around? putting the right one in the picture on the left, and putting the left one on the picture, on the right passenger side? Maybe it's a simple problem of the packer putting the "L" and "R" sticker on the wrong pipes. Looking at it again, I really think this is the problem.

Thank you! Atleast someone else had this problem. Yeah that is what I was thinking that they just gave me to of the same pipes because you are correct that they are of the same angle.

and you are right about the switching around to see if it worked.......thanks man!

truplay8 01-03-2006 03:59 PM

weird........no directions?

Cux350z 01-03-2006 04:18 PM

lol..glad you got it fixed. i cant believe they didnt try to switch the pipes, would take all of 10 min to do it. I hope they didnt charge you extra labor.

be sure to poast a sound clip too.

Here's a link to the installation directions;

I don't know the year and model of G35, so the directions I pulled were for the 03-05 G coupe.

Best of luck getting your issue resolved.

BlackonBlackG35 01-04-2006 05:41 AM

No, they did try and switch the pipes. but i received 2 of the same, or they just came off the jig wrong? anywho, Everythingg35.com was great and is sending me 2 new front pipes as we speak. hopefully these work.......

nate_johnson17 01-04-2006 01:54 PM

The fitament of your Crawfords looks a little off in your first pic, is that the case?

BlackonBlackG35 01-05-2006 05:46 AM

I don't think so, because if that was the case, then in wouldn't be connected right on the opposite side right? and i have no leak problems with them......and also, the exhaust on there now fits fine so i don't think that is the case........

StarcraftBW 01-05-2006 07:14 AM

why borla?

BlackonBlackG35 01-05-2006 09:11 AM

for the deep tone.......

BlackonBlackG35 01-06-2006 05:36 PM

Borla sent me a new set. looks like the left front pipe's flange was angled incorrectly........

NissanBlack350Z 01-24-2006 07:20 PM

oh ok...good
