Default 2006 g35 Cd player problems

Well, it all started around New Years. I put in a burnt CD my friend made..it was a really cheap CD and it played at first but when I tried to eject it it would never come out...and the CD player would not switch CDs or eject any of the others. About an hour later, the CD player did not work at all - it wouldn't play or eject anything..it would only say "Press Eject" and I would try to over and over and nothing worked. I finally decided to try to unplug the battery to see if I started it all over maybe it would help it. *Note - the radio still works perfectly, only the CD player is messed up*. After unplugging the battery for a minute, I tried it..and now the CD player won't even do anything. Whenever I press CD it just goes blank. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I attempted to "repair" my OEM 04 head unit...it worked for about 3 days. I would advise getting an aftermarket unit - save yourself the time and trouble.

my wife's 06' g35 also has this problem. we took it to the dealership and they quoted us about $900 to replace it. so replace it yourself with the aftermarket one. I havent fix her cd player yet, working on taking the cd out first by breaking the console down and just use an ipod hook up.
