Thus far, I've only istalled the OEM mounts without the rubber bushings. According to my measurements, the mounts should come very close to the G's OEM slots, if not then, a perfect fit. I'm more worried about the oil pan not clearing the sway bar than anything else at this time.

I expect to have the tranny and adapter plate on friday and by then I'll be diving into the retrofit.

No solid mounts for me... I like a little luxury in my G.

You listed that the motor mounts are installed. Was any custom fab or relocation involved? Also, are you going with solid mounts?

BTW... That motor is looking nice.:D

I used to work at a speed shop where I perfected my engine building skills. If you have some concept of how a motor works, you can put a motor together. Its the little things people tend to miss that add up in the end and lead to engine failure. File-fitting, clearances and torque specs/procedures are a huge part of getting the job done right.

Cool! :spot: I didn't know that the mounts would be close to or the same as OEM and that you could fit a Q45 motor in there without some significant fab or modifications. That's great news for anyone else considering this swap.

Thanks for the info and I'm looking forward to an update on whether the motor actually fits in there as easily as you planned/expected.:)

Rampant 09-28-2007 08:23 AM

Looks good, but don't scratch the Vette in the background!

RudeG_v2.0 09-28-2007 08:49 AM

Got another question tecni...:D

Do you anticipate any problems with the accessories (A/C, power steering, etc.) fitting back in without significant modification or relocation?

IIQuickSilverII 09-28-2007 09:05 AM

tecni... its a heck of a project
