Mastergrade rear diffuser install help.

I bought the diffuser but it was meant for 350Z but they said it can be done with custom bracket or something. Anybody has one installed on their G35 coupe & care to give me advice? I live in SoCal if anybody wants to help me out i'll gladly pay for your time or recommend a shop?

DRELOC 03-11-2014 06:27 PM

Anyone???? Last resort will be 2 shops I have in mind which is Corner3 or Project Import

dcains 03-11-2014 06:48 PM

Did you try g35driver.com?

DRELOC 03-12-2014 08:06 AM

^^^ Yes i did & no reply at all...it's dead overthere for some reason

Row2K 03-12-2014 11:02 AM

this should help, especially post #80:
https://my350z.com/forum/body-interi...tructions.html

post up how it goes, i intend to install on my G soon. And yes it's dead in driver forum now unless your interested in slamming your car and putting on hell/ill/flush/stretched/whateverthe****thehipstersthinkiscoolnow wheels and tire combos....

Guitarrocker98 03-12-2014 11:34 AM

The G forum is slow right now because its going through a turnover of members right now. We have been flooded with high schoolers and dumb questions. Go to that link, also post pics it ALWAYS HELPS.

DRELOC 03-12-2014 11:34 PM

Some of the veteran G owners who parting out their car is moving to bigger & better things like Skyline GTR, I know this because I bought stuff from them :icon38: but yea i'll attempt to do this install myself but if I have to fabricate custom bracket I'll let the pros do it. Thanks for the info guys!

Row2K 03-13-2014 10:04 AM

fabricating the brackets shouldn't be difficult. Chebosto goes into details of the bracket in post #88 and not #80 in the thread i posted above, minor typo on my part.

You do bring up a valid point about the parts. Some of the people abandoning the platform are leaving behind some very nice and rare parts if you know what to look for and care for it. Plus being that the vast majority of high school and college kids don't have money these parts don't move and can be had for cheap. Its a win win if you have a soft spot for the car and intend to keep it.

Guitarrocker98 03-13-2014 03:44 PM

I intend on keeping it, and am one of the ones who is picking up the parts haha. But ARC parts are hard to find and are always expensive.

Make your own out of aluminum, can be had from Home Depot for about $1/ft. I've used these for everything. You'll need a vice, pliers, and drill bits. I had to make my own when installing a rear diffuser since it was missing brackets from Shine.

DRELOC 03-14-2014 02:26 PM

^^^ mr. sparco how about the bracket for the top center? The ones you posted I can see that might be for the sides but I'm surprised Shine didn't include brackets for your diffuser because that's everyone recommend to ask Shine for missing brackets from different brand like VIS, unless you had the different diffuser on.

mr. sparco 03-14-2014 08:59 PM

I had to make 2 brackets since Shine/Ken gave me the wrong ones, ended up with two left sides. The picture/brackets I posted are for my custom side skirt diffuser, I didn't take pics of the ones I made for the rear diffuser. The center section can easily be made out of aluminum sheet metal as well. You just need to bend it into a U shape.

After many failed attempts of installing this diffuser by myself, I just gave up and let the shop do it :gotowned: Props to M1 Autobody for a clean installed, no cutting to clear my HKS style exhaust.

looks great, would you be able to take some pictures underneath and of the brackets they made (i assume here). Also does the front part of the diffuser meet up with the bumper ? Any pics of that would be awesome....really really curious how its installed.

DRELOC 04-09-2014 03:02 PM

I used ShineAuto 350Z brackets and M1 modified it like cutting the 2 brackets in the back shorter and the 2 side brackets. The mounting holes for the sides has to be redrilled and relocate to mount the sides. I'll take pics when I have time to show where the mounting points.

Great to see this come together Dreloc, too bad we couldn't help over at driver!

Grimreaper87 04-13-2014 03:07 PM

Lovin the look. the roof spoiler/trunk and diffuser are gorgeous on your car.

DRELOC 04-13-2014 11:46 PM

G35driver is literally dead, i haven't seen any new threads there unless it's a For Sale thread so I go here instead.
