Post it up …

Are you running oem-sized/oem-capacity alternator? I reverted back to an OEM alternator from a 60amp variant as I believe at high-rpms my electrical system wasn't keeping up and causing misfires …

Running oem alternator.

I believe I found the problem.
when I turn off the exhaust cam phasers on the Haltech, it drives normal. Less power, but normal.
Dug a little further and found a tsb about the cam phasers springs getting weak. The cam phasers have a little under 300k miles so I’m not surprised it went out.
maybe due to the 50wt oil I was using. My machinist recommended min 40wt oil due to my extra tolerance in the mains and rod bearings. I went with 50wt. Cam sprockets went crazy. It Makes sense to me anyways.
I found some second hand ones from the z plug on fb.

Now comes the “well since I’m taking off the timing
cover, I should upgrade the ...” tried finding tomei cams
for the rev up and only came across the regular de
cams. I wonder can I use these. I have springs and retainers installed, but stock camshafts.

This is the latest log with the ehaust cams on. it's really hunting if you look at the exhaust target vs actual. Exhaust duty % is irratic. I turned them off and it drives normally, just lett power. I should recieve the ther sprockets by nov 5th. What do you guys think it is? If the next set of sprockets dont fix, i'm going to redo the engine harness and cry.

dang! 300k miles?

TSB on the cam phaser on the exhaust side? I've heard of it going out.

I actually have a Rev-Up exhaust sprocket in the garage if you need another one.

I'll see if I can open that CSV file but I'm no expert at reading data logs ...

Default Bc titanium retainer mass vs oem

Decided to weigh them to see a difference.
I know the titanium ones are a lot harder. But the oems are lighter. By over 3 grams a piece.
just putting this info out there for guys just wanting to know.

Oem Vq35de retainers

Bc titanium retainers. (Please excuse my dirty scale from measuring my daily moringa doses)

Not me ... I learn by doing it, messing it up (hopefully only once) and then fixing it...

Very appreciative of other members on this site ... If you can get through the initiation than it's a great source!

damm. Sorry to hear, Conway. I bet you’ll get it running better than ever this summer. 🍺

Sent my center cubby lid out to have some gauge pods molded in. Looks great. . Until you see that they drilled too deep with the hole saw.

Installed it. . The angle is too high. It’s basically pointed into the roof. 😞 Paid 140$ for a dud. I emailed ortizcustompods and haven’t gotten a reply.

See the angle they’re at? So sad.

Default manifold spacers and restrictor size

I noticed you are using spacers between the turbine housing and manifold. Im running into the same issue fitting GT2860RS turbo's because the compressor housing hits the manifolds. Does it create any clearance issue with the steering shaft etc? Also, what size restrictor are you using? Thanks.

haven’t been on this site for a while. Sorry for delay.
you have to machine as much out as possible to get the turbo to clear the angle of the dangle. If you plan to use the piping for Jwt kit. The steering shaft will have to be shaved or use a small u joint from flaming river.com
ive done quite a bit since my last post. I’ll have to update this and put up some info.
If you haven’t purchased the manifolds yet, treadstone has stainless greddy manifolds for 1200$.
then you won’t have to worry about spacers and making a custom engine bracket with smaller engine mounts to clear 3” intakes like I did. This all depends on what you want to do.

Default 90% complete

Thanks for the reply. Since my original inquiry I contacted JWT and they swapped out the driver manifold with the 700BB version. It has an indentation in the manifold to clear the larger turbo. I still had to shave quite a bit of the engine mounts to clear the 3” intake as well as remove a/c compressor which I was not happy about but oh well. I also ran the passenger side charge pipe down like the drivers side in order to avoid going up and over like original jwt kit. It does block the starter so if I need to replace it I’ll have to most likely lift the motor to get at it. I attached a few pics
