What is final answer on CAI's and aftermarket exhausts for Z?

This must be an incredible boring rehash for many but then I really don't care.
I've read 5K posts on mods for Z's over the last few months. I am coming to the conclusion that maybe the only reliable bolt ons are cats, plenum and headers. Are pop chargers and exhausts really any good since some say that stock is best setup for these? (Especially with summer heat and AC on for the CAI's)Many say stock exhaust is not restrictive. What's the consensus on these mods or is there any? Thanks for any participation on this thread.

I installed a popcharger and stillen exhaust, headers, and crawford cats

gained 21hp 15tq

Gains are real

really real

Yeah, but how much did the exhaust and popcharger account for. And during the summer does the pop charger hurt more than it helps. I don't know if anyone has an answer to these questions. SG

Based on Dynos and experiences on this Board thus far, including mine at the track, I would have to believe that the most restrictive parts of the Z are Plenum, CATS, and Y-Pipe/B-Pipe. I think that you will get the most "Bang for the Buck" if these were replaced.

so, dont have to get an intake, but plenum and y-pipe/exhaust are suggested

Ah, just as I thought, cats (ypipe), plenum and I would think also headers. People seem to get good gains from the Crawfords anyway. SG

Headers would be next, but for the price/HP, it's better if you do the other ones first, IMO.

I've seen headers give nice gains for the Z, along with the other parts of the exhaust.

uh, deceit; why the hell would u get rid of your evo? wreck it?

plenum, no cats, flywheel, r&p

The latter 2 aren't necessarily the best bang for the buck because they're expensive for parts and labor, but they'll still yield the best performance gains.
