Default question: nissmo intake install

I just purchased a nissmo intake and I'm debating on whether I should do the install myself or leave it up to the dealer. How involved is the install, hours, etc....? I would like to do it myself, but I still have the factory warrenty and don't want to void that. I have access to a garage and lift if I need it so, facilities and tools are not an issue.

I had the AEM intake (identical to the Nismo) for a while a year ago or so and I installed it myself in about a hour. I did it without jacking the car up either. I would say give it a shot. Good luck.

thanks guys....I did it in a couple hours with no problems. It was a lot easier than I anticipated. The dealer wanted $270 to install it! I couldn't believe it.

Next up....Borla TD.

I'm going to be installing an AEM CAI sometime this week. Any especially diificult parts to keep my eye out for? I found some great instructions but there are like 40 steps.

I don't know much about the install for the Z, but my buddy just put on an AEM v2 cai for his integra. One of the first steps said "remove engine mount"....not the easiest of tasks especially on a seven year old car. His install seemed a lot more labor intensive than mine. One thing I would say to look out for is the isolation mount. My buddy snapped the head of the bolt during the install. They don't seem to be very strong so, be gentle.

Good luck.

The only thing I would recommend you take care over is the angle of the intake pipe. Make sure it is not too high or it can rub on the hood and get damaged.
