Non foulers didn't work
I tried the non-fouler method of fixing my SES light and it didn't work, but I found an OBDII scanner that solved the problem just fine.

Well, I was getting a PO420-too rich code, I completely drilled it out 1/2", all the way through...they're actually still installed on the car, one thing to remember is that the 04.5 Z's have much more restriction than the 03's or even early 04's. It was only 8 bucks and 10 minutes, TRY IT, if it works GREAT, if it doesn't ...oh well. I work at a dealership, so I'll keep reprogramming the dang thing or just by the SIM

I just bought these. I will let you know if they work. I have an 2004.5.

Did you use two on each side?
Is the one NOT drilled out the one screwed into the exhaust first? Most 2004.5's I've seen the o2 sIMS haven't worked. Pulling the battery cable or using the Technosquare reset method both work but it will come back. |

Pulling the battery cable or using the Technosquare reset method both work but it will come back. You need two nonfoulers for each side so 4 total. Install one non fouler into o2 sensor bung on each bank without any modifcation done to the NF (non fouler). Take the remaining two NFs and drill them out to 1/2" and screw one into each of the previously installed NFs on each bank. Then install the o2 sensors into these. Done - |
I used two per pipe and drilled completely through it, you have to drill through the inner part because the sensor will not fit if it's there. I'm taking them out Saturday, I'll take some pictures.

See above instruction.
Do not drill completely thru both of them after screwing together. Drill only one on each side and screw the one you did not drill into the exhaust first and then the one you did drill into that and the o2 sensor into that. It is only needed to drill one anti-fouler to allow clearance for the sensor if you bought the part number described. It does work or it least it did on my 2004.5 that has had cel forever. 1500miles and counting. |
3000 miles and still no light:D
