flanges, cat and Y pipe

Anybody has an issue with their 2.25" flange off the cat not fitting with the Y pipe? I have to cut and weld part of my cat and Y to make flanges fit right. I have Kinetix cats ending with 2.25" and Top Speed Y pipe that opens with 2.5". This causes turbulence. and gas leaks. Luckily I had a broken Y pipe prior to Top Speed Y pipe that also had a 2.5" flange. So, I welded the old Y pipe flange to where kinetix ends and made them match. this stopped the turbulence and also the leak. Does anyone know anybody who makes a cat converter that starts with 2.25 at the header side and ends with 2.5 on the Y side. other than Megan test pipes? I want to be smog legal. ANY info would help

In Washington

As long as you have cat, it is legal. sometimes, you might even be legal without cats. Some emmission are done at cpu, not the exhaust, so depends on which county and if you get lucky or not. My buddy without the cat passed emmission. I guess catless is cool. I just used hi flow to be safe
