Do HFC's need to be Jet coated

Just got my Crawford cats. Should they be coated if I plan to stay NA. I would think not, but any info would help.

i dont think anybody has ever jet hot coated a set of cats, and if you went FI wouldn't you likely switch to straight pipes.

If you have emissions testing like we do here in Nashville, where they visually check to make sure the cats have not been removed, I'd say DON'T DO IT!

Jet Hot coated would take away the "stock" appearance, and could raise a red flag, plus I don't see any benefit anyway.

Also not sure if it could be done on the outside of the cats only, without getting any Jet Hot on the internals.

I wouldn't do it for the Crawford cats...

I only did it because my HELIX HFCs were highly polished like chrome when I got them. Once that flat black turns to a light gray with dirt and grime they will draw less attention. I also did it because I thought it may help reduce some heat considering how close the cats sit next to my floor boards. They coated everything but the actual cell membrane. You can see a pic if you want in my links below.
