Do some Z's have a big Z on their muffler and other's don't?

I just got back from Japan and saw a few Z's. One Z (a roadster with the older tail-lights (04-05)) was in front of me for a long time. I noticed his muffler was all silver (not polished though, like a matte silver) and had a Z on it. It also had some small circles or squares on both sides of the Z.

I also noticed I have a Maito model of a 2003 350Z Touring and it also shows this muffler. My muffler, and all of the ones I've seen in the last month in the US have a black muffler with silver tips.

Is there any story behind this?

Interesting. I would like to know as well.

Here's an image of the muffler I'm talking about.

Since my car model is Japanese and I saw that car in Japan, and japanvehicles has it listed, I think it's just OE on the JDM cars. The Roadster I was following in Japan seemed really quiet so I wonder if it's quieter than the USDM cars.

Pretty sure that is the Fujitusbo Ti exhaust, not stock.

I would believe that maybe that guy in Japan modified his, but the car model I have is clearly a BONE-STOCK OE car and it has it.

My car model does also have the Brembo's and the 6 spoke Enthusiast rims so that's somewhat confusing as well. I wonder if we only get Brembo's and Ray's rims in the US while Japan gets Brembos on more offerings (or they don't get the Ray's).

That is the Fujitsubo Ti catback - an excellent, expensive, lightweight aftermarket exhaust. "VandyZ" (Adam) - one of the CrawfordZCar crew and my friend - has it on his Z. Looks sweet in person.........and sounds great!

is it softer/louder than stock?

Titanium = expensive :(

Looks cool though.

Might have been an expensive Dealer option.

Most US dealers sell the nismo exhaust which is of Fujitsubo design anyway. Japanese dealers probably took it a step higher by offering the Titanium.

We miss out on a few things here, like the Momo factory steering wheels, back up cams etc...

Still curious why my toy car model has the exhaust. I guess it must be a dealer option over there. What's it cost anyway, like $2000?

At idle - sounds stock
At 4+ - little throatier
At WOT - louder than stock, not as loud as Nismo, seductive, throaty roar:)

the japanese oem Z 02-05 did not come with the ray's track wheels as an option, so instead they got the track model brembos all with the touring 18's

FYI The US-Spec Fujitsubo Ti does not come with the Z logo etched into it like the picture above, only the JDM-Spec exhaust does. Adam (sn: Z1 Performance) has it on his car and there is no Z etched into it.

as of todays exchange rate its 2,058 from nissan japan

and yes its a option for the car in japan

So whoever you saw Brian,

Was straight ballin' out of control.

Imagine his Z in a few months, when the "new car" thing wears out. He'll probably throw cash at it until it becomes a super car.

It that screenshot it clearly says it's a Fujitsubo muffler.

VandyZ has it etched on it...but then again his isn't US spec. So far his is the best sounding exhaust imo that I have heard on a 350Z.

Here is how it sounds: www.crawfordz.com/adam/adamzrun_final.wmv

that exhaust is really cool, just not sure if i could justify $2,058 for it!
