Has anybody boared out the cat's? like take everything inside the cat's and use them as test pipes?? Well I started doing this morning and I'm going to put them back on tonight. I was woundering if this would actually work, could you gain some HP?

It's been done, a good search should find the answers. The ppl who did it expressed satisfaction.

If I remeber right, some only cleared one of the two cats on each side, some cleared both.

I wouldn't do it if I were you because you might need them later when you smog the vehicle or decide to sell it.

Just buy test pipes, they are very affordable.

Agree. Catalytic converters are too valuable to ruin. Spend $200 on test pipes.

My bad, Each one lists for $750 each... but still...

not worth it if you ever need cats on your car again...

Theoretically, if one was going to remove (gut) one of the cats on each side, would the one downstream of the O2 sensor be the one, theoretically?
