Helix TP's Cracked
 

Anyone ever heard of Helix TP's cracking? i mean i searched the forum and only heard of other TPs cracking.

but Helix? i thought they were supposed to be higher quality.

Anyways heres the pic.

What do you guys think i should do? New tp's? I was thinking maybe Titeks?

Mine cracked where the brackets are.

heres a better angle with a pic from my phone. you can see how large the crack is.

is there any reason why it cracked around the bung as opposed to somewhere else?

Are Helix pipes notorious for this? Are there other pipes notorious for cracking?
I'd like to know because I am looking into them.

The hole where the o2 bung weakens the piping, doesn't help that the inside of the bend is where the stress point probably is.

But then again, what do i know? :dunno:

How many miles on the test pipes? Maybe Helix will give you another pair.

I'm getting my Helix replaced.

you sir are not the only person and yes its happens more often with helix test pipes, especially the version 1's, then they should.

Did you have the second bungs put on or did helix used to make them like that? And those are the 1st version, correct?

That is a pretty large crack. Hopefully these atleast lasted you a while, so that buying another pair wont be such a big deal.

reason could be a bad weld, thus creating a stress riser and that bigggg crack we see. I know the new megan tp's have flex joints in them to relieve the stress, and the helix v2's have better mounting brackets.

my titek test pipes keep snapping at the brackets. the left one snapped twice already.:icon22:
