Default i know its not worth it...intake for 07

why do we do this to ourselves? ive been in different car forums for years now. my GTI had every bolt on possible. spent hours doing research on the same stupid sh*t. yet, i still find myself debating over getting an intake for the new Z even though i know its not worth it.

is it stupid to spend $300-$500 for 5 hp?- yes
is it stupid to buy something just to make a woosh sound?- yes

Stillen= too expensive, dont like how it leaves the accordion pipe, but heat shielded
Fujita= cheaper, looks nice, heat soak does have at least some negative effects
AEM= $500, cant even find a pic
Nismo= not out yet, still no heat shield that im aware of

All these problems, yet i find myself searching everyday trying to talk myself into buying one. It's a disease! HELP ME!

On my '06 I just took out my JWT Popcharger and reinstalled the stock airbox with K&N drop-in filter. No more woosh sound. No more heat soak.

I am thinking about doing a custom intake with my 07

Does somebody make a piece that goes from the front bumper grille ( bottom piece ) to the TB? I would assume that would result in crazy air/power gains.

Like a smaller tube or something along those lines that will suck the air from the bottom bumper or simply from the lower part of the bumper?

We do it because we are bored. At least I am. Also coming from 15+ years in the BMW camp..... all parts for these and all nissans are soooo cheap. I spent nearly $4500 on my supersprint stainless headers/exhaust. Not even titanium! BMW markup is huge!

I was going to get a cayman s after selling my e46 m3 but instead I got an 07 350z enthus AND an 07 Nismo frontier for less than the cayman otd!

I agree
I bet there will be more gains on the 07 then previous models due to there being two of them now...
Still I agree that it is not worth the money
Put the money into a Nitrous system

i hate to tell you this, but the HR is tapped out unless you want to go hardcore with stroker kit. its doable but the dual intakes really are gonna help you reach your 300whp unless you spend F/I like money on N/A.

I also trashed my poop charger and went back to the stock airbox... Except I used an Amsoil Dropin.

I've been looking at the Fujita. The stock system just seems so well thought out though. Maybe just some K&N drop-ins. If thay ever make them.

I hate to tell you this but...Watch me reach 300rwhp. The 3.5HR is for 07-08's now...an Engine Management system will be out for it eventually, prob Technosquare before UTEC... that's key to reaching the 300rwhp.
