My Take...

HKS sent the drawings for the exhaust to a company either in Taiwan or China to mass produce for them. So basically this company produces the exhaust for HKS but also produces the "X02" exhaust. This can easily be done in a legal fashion unfortunately. The exhaust is most likely exactly the same except for the tips...(HKS installs these after the product is sent to them to distribute).

I would say the XO2 is the same grade of stainless and for the most part, the same exhaust.

What do I know, maybe cheapo knockoffs pwn the name brands these days~ Lol!

so youre saying people who buy shine body parts or other similar kits idiots for buyin it? You need to watch what youre saying. Some people are on a budjet and some people just waste all their money on real parts and end up parting it out and selling the car because they cant pay their bills. In the end as long as you know how to keep your finances in good standings people can buy whatever parts they want.
I owned a x02 exhaust for a little bit. It was very good quality for what it was and how much it costed. In the end I just did not want something that loud. And theres no way I would buy the real deal HKS because it sounds like a rice king. But to some it sounds good so more power to them.

do it right get FAST INTENTIONS INTIMIDATOR ftw!!

Ignorance is bliss. Have you ever even seen the welds on an xO2? Prob not. Seems like someone is a little butt hurt

btw the xO2 sounds a lot better than the HKS Deeper and meaner FTW!!!1!

IMHO they only look the same.

Quality, materials, sound and some cosmetic stuff are all different.

Just judging by the pics that I have seen, when the two exhaust are brand new and sitting side by side, I think the hks piping is built with a better stainless steel and the tips are titanium whereas the xo2's tips are stainless. With that being said, I swear by the xo2 because is the best bang for the buck. It's 1/3 of the price, looks the same, quality is there, and power gains are there. Why not? If you don't mind having the xo2 instead of the "real" hks, then it doesn't really matter. If you're about performance and not name calling, then it makes sense.

Gothchick....this was not directed to you. I am just adding my $0.02 to the party.

i've seen both the HKS and X02 in person before.

+1 on Dustin's comment

the quality of the pipes on the hKS is far more superior than the X02. also the flanges on the x02 are way cheaper in construction. some people will be like. so what. its a flange. but to prevent leaks flanges and gasket material is important...

I have the HKS and I love it. The quality is excellent, as it is with all HKS products. I would save the extra money and get HKS.

Yeah, nothing like the super high quality H pipes that we all saw pics of lol

The X02 is a solid exhaust and a huge bang for the buck

I have owned many exhausts and even owning a "Greddy" exhaust the packing material came out and rattled like crazy after that....I payed more than $500 for it (single cat back)

My used K teller 2.5" cat back held up better and I paid $150 for it...

Big names dont mean jack....its some pipe and a muffler...if it were a custome Hytech design for YOUR motor combo and you had to pay 2K for it I could see the expense

A stock motor exhaust....dual 2.75" pipes....$1500? Really? The cans retail for $235 ea....$470 for both....so $1030 for dual pipes?

So if they make a dual exhaust for $550...either they (X02) found a miracle or HKS might be a little greedy....

A normal stainless 2.5" can costs $80....so what makes the HKS 3 times better in the muffler dept?

I understand welders cost money but I have said it before....unless someone is underneath the car looking directly at the welds ....the regular cans will do and the welds will hold...

Just take a step back sometimes and weigh your options....whoever paid 1500 or more for the HKS unit....probably didnt care anyway but there are other options

If you're on a budget, there's no reason to get something that looks/performs just as great for three times the price.

i bought a used HKS EXHAUST FROM SOMEONE AND WANTED TO KNOW IF THERE WERE ANY VISIBLE DIFFERENCES SO I COULD TELL IF I WAS GETTING THE REAL HKS AND NOT GETTING RIPPED OFF. THAT WAS THE POINT OF THIS TOPIC. WHY IS IT THAT NO ONE CAN ANSWER THIS QUESTION AND EVERYONE HAS GIVE ME **** ABOUT BUYING AN X02. I NEVER ****ING SAID I WAS.

The reason name brand stuff cost so much is your paying for the freakin name. Alot of people can't afford to pay for a HKS, I would be curious how long they both last, I'm pretty sure its the same. As for me, I agree with a few of you, I like saying I have a HKS or NISMO, more of a bragging right. Yeah your going to pay more, but in the end who knows, shiit they probably come from the same place. I would have to here both in person to really make a judgment call, I just am going to get a NISMO.
