wanting 13.3's to 13.7's

I just bought a 2005 6spd Z with only 12K miles. I love it!!! But I'd like to get a little more power and still use it as a daily driver. School is a 45 mile one way trip three times a week. Can I just get Borla headers, Borla exhaust, K&N cold air, and unichip and hope to be in the 13's. Or do you think I could do some type of FI and still use it as a dependable driver?

Thanks for your help!

you'll need more than that for low 13's. Maybe if you get some gears, intake, intake plenum spacer, headers, exhaust, test pipes, UTEC and and a tune, good sticky tires, and make sure; you know how to drive.

Its possible to do those times bone stock.

check out this thread and look at the bone stock times.

https://my350z.com/forum/drag/233840-top-25-1-4-mile-times-for-tt-st-supercharger-nitrous-bolt-ons-stock.html

Looks like its possible to do a 13.6 on a bone stock 03-06 Z. The 07's can reach 13.3 stock.

You'll also see its very common for bone stock Z's to run 13.8-14. So if you want to make it a little easier to get those times, get an exhaust, HFCs or test pipes, plenium spacer, popcharger, headers, and a tune. If you perfect yourself you should be able to run 13.2-13.4 with those mods. Remember the driver is the most important part :)

good luck installing those headers, or you better be ready to pay someone a lot of $$ to put them on for you ..

I went 13.6 stock. its all in driver..

Post some current time slips, and lets see where you are starting.

Well that's an excellent start.

I ran 13.77 @ 101.4 on my 2nd passever in the car stock-that was about 4 years ago. Your goal is already possible, but you wouldnt know that because you havent raced your car-bench racing FTL. Remember just because one person runs 13.XX with XX mods, doesnt mean you will, in fact due to the stupidity level of this question you'll do full bolt-ons and run 14.4's-great job;)

Just buy some drag radials and learn to drive. That's all you need.

I hear Bolra Headers don't make power....

I'm interested in having the acceleration of a car that normally runs these times on stock tires. I don't want to set a car up for a straight line run, I like road coarse/autocross racing. For example I drove a C5 vette for a few days and I loved the accleration. I thought of buying one but went with the Z instead for a number of reasons (gas mileage, more comfortable, well balanced, and reliable). Maybe my question is better understood if I ask what modifications do I need for about 330 hp at the crank? (I'm just guessing that 40-50 more horsepower will get me where i want)

intake, plenum spacer, gears, exhaust, test pipes, pulleys. with that u should be there or even more...it all depends...

Bench racing is for losers.
Dyno queens are no better.

Get out there and race. You’ll figure it out on your own.

all this plus some headers and a really good tune should 40-50 more hp to the wheels, which is like 50-60 more at the crank. add cams with a good tune, then you got even 10-15 more hp on top of that. A good clutch and flywheel will help to. After that you've done pretty much all you can while not rebuilding the motor, or going FI. A good driver in that car should be able to do 13 flat, maybe even into the 12's with DRs. While not adding more hp, the 3.9 or 4.083 gears will help you the most in lowering your 1/4 time.

Not if you live near the typical tracks :(

Only in good DA's, well prepped, and great driving will a stock 06 Z hit 13.7.
