Just dyno'd w/ Mrev2+5/16" copper iso

So, even though I used a torque wrench, one of the 6 bolts holding down the mrev2 snapped. Took it down to Zcar garage in San Jose yesterday to have them fix the snapped bolt (which was a great experience btw, can't say enough good things about this place and Rob/Employee's). I figured I'd get it dyno'd and have them install some sways while I was there. I know it might be somewhat useless since I never got a baseline Dyno before the popcharger/mrev2/spacer. But here are the results anyways.

Max power=244.01
Max Torque=235.17

Btw, though the peak numbers are a little lower than I expected, the car definitely feels like it has a good increase in torque down low and in the mid/upper mid rpms. Though it does feel like I lost a small amount of power up top.

Nice numbers! My revup lay down 252rwhp/239rwtq on a different day-different dyno with virtually identical mods but your numbers aren't far off. Although your peak may not be that impressive... that minimum of 220tq from a bit over 2000-5700rpm is nice to have.

Hmmm...your peak hp is dipping very low. :icon14:

I like the chart except after 6,000 RPM. Is the motor running lean?

RBlover69 Dec 2, 2007 09:46 AM

yea, the 5/16 lowers peak hp a bit in favor of more underneath the curve. I prefer the 1/2 spacer for a better peak.

with my previous motor on a dyno jet i dyno'd 251 std havent gotten a chance to dyno the V2 revup ..since i have no oil consumption finally. .jesus.

Yeah I don't know what's up with 6g to the cut off. It was also pinging quite a bit. I also don't know why the A/F isn't showing up on the chart. I assume it is running a bit lean though.

They're both supposed to offer gains from 4K and up, with the 1/2 offering an extra pony or two.

not the 5/16,......it suppose to provide gains mid range with a minor loss uptop , the 1/2 spacer mated with the mrev2 on the revup was suppose to provide benefits uptop while provding lesser gains mid range but both are supposed to be better then the stock setup on a revup unit.

This is true, but it's ok -- the MD spacer and MREV2 have been independantly dyno'd on MANY cars and has proven performance.

That said, I would not pay for a dyno without air/fuel measurement....

These numbers are worthless without a previous dyno or baseline dyno. They're just numbers...not comparable to anything other than someone else dyno'ing in the same exact dyno at the same time.

Oh, I suppose on a revup they'll lose a pony or two way up top. I have a 287, our curve broadens from 4.5K to redline according to some of the dynos I've read. =)
