That new C63AMG sure has a lot of power stock, same with that new IS-F. Seems like those cars would probably save me money in the long run compared to all of this...
So there is really no improved sound to be gained form headers either? Wow, than I guess like that settles that...

you do realize you will need a tune after you do headers right?
if i were going through all the trouble to change them, i would do long tubes, your budget doesnt allow for the PPE, so your next bet is OBX
of you want to do shorty headers, there are Megan (not a fan of their products), Tomei, and i believe Nismo (dont hold me to that one). i am sure there are more i am forgetting

They have Borla, DC, Z1 etc etc... If you cant put them on yourself expect a shop to charge you anywhere from $250-$800 for the labor...
Probably worth it if your taking the motor out of the car for some reason... If not it doesn't seem like a great time... If your wondering why go open your hood and try to find the bolts holding the factory manifolds on...
Then go find your fuel lines and ponder a little about that too.

When I was looking for headers I found that the DC headers were best for my price range. If you can, try and find vids/people with an exhaust system similar to yours as you may not like the sound change from the headers. After I got headers installed($600), the exhaust was slightly louder and a lot raspier, especially on decel.

Imho, if your staying N/A the only headers are longtubes. If your going twin turbo you will have to use what ever headers the kit comes with. If your doing a mid mount turbo or front mount turbo it doesnt really matter as long as they are equal length. And not a off brand (ask me know I know) if your cheap and really love working on your car you can get HR stock manifolds they are way better than the DE....BUT...you have to run a different catalytic converter/test pipe. All cat backs are the same.

There is another Ok long tube on the market , not as good as PPE and not as crappy as OBX. I believe they run $800 to $900
