Anyone know why everyone making headers can't make these kind?
 

I was wondering why there are so many twists in the headers, like CrawfordZ's and a little in Escort Racing's? Why can't they just make them like this:

Well, having arbitrary tube lenghts doesn't help a lot. You want to have the lenghts set up to help scavenge exhaust gases. Having tubes of the proper lenght sometimes requires funky twisting.

Plus, you don't have a lot of space for headers to have equal length pipes without the twists if you are going to keep the cats.

The tubes in the above pic are not equal length. In an attempt to make the tubes the same length, you get the 'twisties' that you are talking about.
