Here's a stupid question
I know a cat-back exhaust is everything replaced from the cat to the back.
Now, does a true-dual exhaust run all the way from the headers? I'm asking because I want to buy test pipes now, and a true dual exhaust later on. Will a true dual exhaust replace the test pipes? Will I be buying test pipes right now only for them to be replaced by a true dual which runs all the way from the headers? |
A cat-back exhaust using a y-pipe and a true dual system will both bolt on to the cats. Neither replace the cats or test pipes.
A y-pipe back exhaust retains the OEM y-pipe or whichever one you want to buy. Exhaust system goes in this order: Header(s) -> Cats/TP's -> Exhaust system |

Test pipes replace your cats with straight pipes. More free flowing. Pipes are loud, but tuey make quieter resonated tp
