2006 PPW Rev-up, pop chrg, bassani exh., dyno'd
Today I had Z-Car Garage in San Jose, CA add a couple of bolt-ons to my stock rev-up. It appears that this community is always looking for first hand write-ups even on older stuff, so here it goes.
Little history first: this is the 3rd engine due to oil consumption, but this one is working well, not consuming. Nissan has been great to me with this issue (Future Nissan in Roseville, CA), and while I don't have an HR or 370 I am not saddened a bit with my rev-up...love the Z. Pics and dyno chart will be linked through the Z-Car Garage blog as soon as they post it up (few days). Before mod dyno on stock car (only mod is 4.08FD) posted 239.76whp, 219.79wtq. Then they put on the Bassani cat-back exhaust (x pipe, etc.) and a JWT pop charger. After mod dyno posted 253.82whp, 230.61wtq. The dyno is a Dynojet. The power curve looks good, no spikes, nice increase across power band. The sound speaks for itself, nothing like a Bassani on our Z's in my opinion. I have heard many of the popular exhausts, and hands down Bassani is the winner for sound. There is enough of an increase in power to feel it, nothing major, just little quicker, breaks tires loose a bit easier, comes alive just a bit better. Seems refreshed, very smooth. Again, as soon as they post pics and dyno sheet on their blog I will link (to validate this). Simple mod as many of you know, but its enough to keep this big kid happy before FI happens in the future. As all of our cars are, its just a work in progress, and these additions aren't for any other reason than to please me now. As always Z-Car Garage goes beyond with their service, a Fantastic group of guys dedicated to making whatever options you choose the very best they can. I travel from the Sacramento area to their shop in San Jose....and will continue to do so happily. |
Looks really good. I love seeing 06 dynos. Makes me happy. Also your numbers seem to be corrected. Can you verify?

Have to wait until they post up the dyno sheet on their blog, I don't know enough about the whole process to verify for you now, sorry.
