Default nismo header problems

I believe I am not the only one who is the middle of a huge f#$%ing mess with the nismo headers. Spent over $500 having these things installed the first time and the rubbing issue was all over the place. My whole steering column within the car was vibrating, annoying as hell. The driver's side header was literally chewing three my steering column shaft. So, i took the car to a nissan dealership in MD and they ordered a me a new correct set. I arranged for Nismo to reimburse me for the install labor cost. Anyways, the put on the new header and what do you know, the RUBBED AGAIN, not even close. This gets worse by the way. So i drop my car again, all pissed off. A weekl passes, the service manager tells me that there are good sets out there and that he will have on for me in 3-5 days. So another week passes, the new headers come in. What a surprise!!!! A third drivers side header that still rubs. What the f$%k is Nismo up to!!!! I have spent $$$$$$$$$$$ and wasted all my time withis stupid ********. Are there even any good sets out there. I doubt it. Why the hell would nismo, knowing that i'm all pissed off , have spent time and mucho $$$$$ on this and the fact that this was the 3RD set, send me ANOTHER defective drivers header. I just want EVERYONE to know that there ARE most likely no good sets out there and that if you chose to buy them, you are in for a big kick in the ***.

strange... I bought a set from BJ Zacharias, one of the three sets he had from the racing car... paid $300 for the install and no rubbing at all... in fact, there's about an inch or more clearance between the header and the steering column...

Maybe get the dealer to reimburse you, then get Borla headers???

Unhappy How can you tell?

Are there any distinguishing features between the defective Nismo headers and the new and improved headers? Maybe even by serial number? I'm seriously considering getting the Nismo headers, but if I'm hearing that the new batch are rubbing, I may have to turn elsewhere, maybe even consider the Crawford's.

Just buy the Crawford Headers!! Better performance, better design, no rubbing, and all that for very little extra money.

HEY PETE!, I bought one of the other 3 and I still haven't installed them yet. Thank you for posting, now I won't worry about rubbing, that is if I ever get around to getting them installed

NISMO recalled all the original NISMO HEaders, It seems some vendor's are still sending them out (NOT US)

We have the revised headers in stock.. I will take a pic side by side tommorow and show the difference... New left header looks much better

oh yeah... my Cannon S400 broke tonight...

Is there a part number change or any designation on the part that people can tell the difference?

same part number, I think they came out about 2 weeks ago.

Only way to really know is if you can fit your hand around the steering column.

Unless you get a NEW set that was shipped out from NISMO 2 weeks ago...

Jason

I'm thinking of purchasing the Nismo headers but are they made for the US spec cars only or are they universal ie fit both US, JDM and Aussie cars. Are they imported from Japan or made in the US for Nth American Nismo.

Boy that is not a great way to keep track of what is new or old.

I do not believe the LEFT HAND DRIVE header's will fit on a Right Hand Drive car...

I can look into getting a set of RIGHT HAND DRIVE headers for you.

I know that TERE had a problem with a vendor sending her RIGHT HAND DRIVE headers.

NISMO Exhaust = Right or Left hand drive
NISMO Header US - Left hand drive.

Ill PM you, or you PM me. But Ill hopefully find out not long after 9am...
