Who's bought a pl.spacer lately/differences?
 

Hi, looking at buying a plenum spacer for my 03. Been researching awhile, and wondering who has bought one lately, from who, and which one. How much? I see CZP and Z1 have their own named ones, but have been looking at Motordyne. Are there any differences?

You are sure to get a lot of opinions.
Here is mine.
A spacer is just a piece of metal(aluminum).
You can spend 100 bucks more to get a brand like
Motordyne or go the cheap route(I did)with a private label
Z1.The results you can feel are the same.One thing you will
notice with a spacer is the sound.You will get a more "open"
sound when hitting the throttle.I like many owners,started with a intake.
Then you start adding...Got to say when I had the mix of a
simple Popcharger,5/16 spacer linked with a Nismo S-tune(stock cats),the car
had a great balanced sound.You could hear that big rush of air being sucked into
the intake.In tandem,the exhaust gave that super VQ engine note with a edge
that had been jacked up.My car now at WOT has that wail I've always wanted.
But I do think about how it sounded before.
Z guys never stop screwing with their cars.

MD 5/16 - I researched for months using this site mainly. Then youtube videos won me over... lol

I can only speak of my last 3 Zs. They all had Motordyne. Reason why I bought first one was research and just talking with Tony. He stands behind his product 110%.

Motordyne's customer service is top notch and their products are great quality.

As for the spacer, I installed mine recently and felt the engine to be more responsive. You won't feel a big difference until you get a tune.

Thanks for the input. Think I've decided to go with the CZP one. Kind of wanted a Motordyne, but prices shipped to me on the Motordyne were all around $225, the CZP one shipped is $195. Why it costs $40 to ship the Motordyne by USPS to Canada, I have no idea.

I added the 5/16th MD spacer and ART pipes and there's a nice difference in power just waiting for the dyno to open up and I'm getting tuned.

I feel you on the shipping prices to Canada ask for Mike at CZP hes been treating me real well on everything I've ordered this winter.

Should have went with the motordyne man. The copper iso thermal spacer is best for cold weather, you might have been better off getting that.. I wouldn't mind paying extra $$ for awesome service and products
