I was dead set on the tomei y-pipe/exhaust but I recently stumbled across the soho motorsports exhaust group buy. After reading about the theory and r&d they (soho) put into their y-pipe I started to compare it to the tomei unit. I must say the tomei y-pipe just looks so generic and has such a sharp merge. That really turned me off to it, combined with my strup headers I feel the tomei may also be to raspy and loud as well. For now I'm leaning towards the soho ypipe/single exhaust.

The only thig that sucks is the soho is the same price as the tomei even though its stainless vice titanium, albeit it is a better design. Soon as my wheels sell I'll order the soho and do a review upon arrival.

The SOHO kit is really nice. The video online of the ZDAYZ exhaust competition winner is my buddy Steve down here in Florida with the full SOHO kit. That car is incredibly loud. Rasp seems minimal even with his test pipes. The sheer volume really is off the charts. Very powerful sounding.

+1 I've heard nothing but good things about SOHO. I've been talking with them for a week via PM, they have been extremely helpful.

The SOHO kit is similiar to AAM setup...from all the setups I've found that a resonator is needed on the y pipe or mid pipe to keep rasp down and out after warm up. Agency Power has a bigger muffler can which I guess keep it's tone down and rasp minimal.

I have been trying not to be selfish and order this on credit, plus my wife would notice this big of a box outside lmao...I would just buy the Tomei exhaust and not the y-pipe...

That seems to be the general understanding^. I will be starting the install in about 3 hours. The setup will be: Momentum headers, Z1 test pipes, Motordyne XYZ w/resonator, and the Tomei Expreme. I'll post the results via text later tonight, but it may take me until the weekend to get a good video of it.

I'm thinking I may the first one to run this with the XYZ + resonator?

Sure hope so! Should look pretty awesome too. Car is lowered on KW V2s. 295s out back. Hotchkis Sways (red), Nismo Diff cover, Whiteline diff bushings, and I just put a coat of bright red paint and clearcoat on my GT Spec rear brace. All with a bumper tuck. Hopefully with the titanium single it'll look awesome. At a minimum I'll post a photo once it's in

Just following up...did the install yesterday evening and IT'S AWESOME! Very minimal rasp paired with the XYZ + resonator. At WOT it has a great tone and volume, but at cruising speeds it's actually quieter than my momentum dual I was running.

Initial feedback from me, is it's a definite thing to consider running the XYZ with it.

Photos and videos to follow later today.

Thanks man! I painted my GT Spec rear brace to match the hotchkis anti-swaybar. On top of the Nismo diff cover and whiteline diff bushing, the tomei really opens up the rear. The wheels are the exact specs you mentioned. Nitto Invo tires 295 out back and 255 up front.

I plan to get a good sound clip this weekend!

i just listened to that video post for the Soho exhaust. granted its hard to tell but the tomei sounds about the same loudness and rasp wise. sounds good on video but it is going to be crazy loud for daily use (meaning you wont be avoiding police) unless you have a silencer like the one included with the Tomei (even then its pretty loud but streetable) The thing I hate about the Tomei is the ypipe. Hence why I created the thread using the motordyne. hopefully the motordyne resonated section helps out with some of the loudness.

nice man looking forward to the sound clip. the 255s look really tight in there. any issues with rubbing? i was hoping to fit a 265 up front with a 285 out back with the Hankook RS3s.

Nah, that's just the angle of the photo. I actually added a 5mm spacer up front to make it sit a bit more flush. I plan to go up to a 265 or 275 once those wear out

Look in the Enkei thread, some of us are running 10.5 RPF1's up front with 285's

the most important thing is that Renfro is using the motordyne XYZ resonated. The Tomei full exhaust is way to loud and drones like crazy. too much for a street driven car. Im not even being a baby about it either. I have had some loud cars in my days. Renfro!! wheres that video!?

Renfro what do you think of this combination.

MotorDyne ART pipes
MotorDyne XYZ resonated
Tomei exhaust
