Default Which MUFFLERS should I try out?

Beaten to death and I'm new to Z's.

I'm currently running stock headers, megan racing non-resonated test pipes, megan racing Y pipe (3" outlet) and 3" aluminized stainless all the way out the back.

You know that I know it's too ****ing loud. Even as a track only car. I'd like to try a few mufflers, inline or out the back. What do you suggest?

I would try a mid-system resonator first (in stock resonator position a foot or so aft of the Y-pipe exit); like a Vibrant:

Amazon Amazon

That should tame the sound some and maybe even bring it down below track db limits. If not then you can always add an aft muffler or if you want to be able to tune the sound and power curve (minimally), a SuperTrapp out back. I've not actually seen or heard an S/T on a 33 and would be interesting to see/hear such a setup both with 0-discs and up to the full stack.

Eh, it was a loose joke with some slight seriousness behind it. They're cheap and disposable. They have no throughput resistance, and they can have a somewhat unique sound depending on the application. I wouldn't put 'em on my daily; but for a dedicated track car which has the tendency to go through parts faster, with an increased risk of damaging those parts by failed maneuvers(running off course etc.) or miscellaneous obstacles, it makes more sense to me to not have a $1,000 exhaust system hanging under your car.

I used to use cherry bombs as aftermarket resonators. That's pretty much all they're good for

Cherry bombs hardly tone anything. That amazon this will probably do well.

Hell youre in LA. I might trade you for my stock exhaust out back.

Only it's a clean set up. Don't want none of the $30 special hack n weld stuff muffler shops love to do haha

Haha well my exhaust was made by me..at least from the Y back. I’m going to try out that muffler when it arrives, then see what’s up.

Got this installed on Saturday. The car is still loud as ****, but now I can drive without constant anxiety of being pulled over and blowing my ear drums. I've noticed that crusing around 2500-3300 RPMS is manageable with no rasp, anything above that is pure racecar. It's perfect. Thanks for the suggestion!!

It's also really easy to install because the ID of the piping is 3" so it just slips over your current 3" piping. Angle grinder and a quick weld. Easy.
