Default Does anyone know what this is on my cold air intake?

So I bought 2003 350z from this old retired guy. I go to smog it and it fails smog because of the cold air intake. Im not too concerned about the cold air intake I can just go ahead and reinstall the stock intake. There is however this weird sensor that seems to be ziptied onto the intake and I have no idea what it is. I thought it was the mass air flow sensor but it seems to be a second sensor thats sliced into some other wires that I dont even have a clue about. Idk what the purpose of this sensor is and Idk if its even safe to take it off.

does anyone have any ideas as to what this is?

Oh man that looks like a mess 😅 and to me it looks like someone made a makeshift maf sensor on the up half of the intake 🤷🏽*♂️

That's a Fetzer valve. You fill it with 3-in-1 oil to modulate the phases of the piston return springs.
I had one on my car, had to remove it, too much power for me.
I can't imagine having two of them.

That is because it is the high end model... everyone knows the standard version uses duct tape.
