WTF!!!? 6th gear won't go in on my THIRD transmission!

When I started driving my car after its THIRD transmission was put in, the 6th gear would not go in for a few days. AT ALL, no amount of force would push that fukker into 6th gear. Then it fixed itself...........

Well, 6 or so months later.........6th gear won't go in AGAIN. Sometimes it goes in, sometimes I need to fcuk around with it for 10/15 seconds to get that biotch into gear. WTF! I am sick of this $hit, I don't know if I want a FOURTH fcuking transmission!!!! :icon32:

EDIT: My car is an '03 bought in Nov. of '02 and has ~18K miles.

Wow. What dealer did you buy from? I bought my Z from Star in Niles and I always had transmission troubles from day one. They NEVER acknowledged it and I eventually sold the car (for various reasons, but including this one).

Get your fourth transmission and see if they'll give you a free extended warranty. I wouldn't keep the car past the warranty period.

I believe this constitutes a lemon if I am not mistaken...not that you whould want to trade your Z in but, you could get your money back and get an '05. Sorry to hear about your troubles....

It may be a lemon but not according to IL law. He's screwed in that respect. I looked into it with my own car and the IL law is very unsupportive of the consumer. The "grace" period only lasts for 1 year after purchase of a new vehicle and probably only 12k miles.

It maybe just your stop plate is out of adjustment. Look in shop manual it takes only a couple minutes to adjust from inside the car.

WashU: I bought it in Countryside (south side) & service it at Star Nissan. That's weird, Star put in my 3rd trans with no questions asked! I think I'll drop off my car within the next week or so.

I figure that it's probably not the transmission but something more simple (like the stop plate). I would much rather adjust it myself than going through the hassle of having the dealership take care of it.

Otherwise, this transmission has been smooooooth.

I'm glad Star's helping you out. I bought my car from there and they still treated me like crap.
