I've have been using Interstate batteries in all my cars for years and have found nothing better. Highly rated by Consumer Reports. I know that they provide batteries to Toyota. If you buy a 60 mo. battery from Interstate, you can pretty much count on it lasting 5 years.

one question for ppl... how would i know if my battery is under warranty ... i just feel 1 year kinda sucks for battery life...

desiZ Jun 2, 2005 07:39 PM

turns out my battery wasn't dead after all, just discharged... however i am 100% sure i did not leave any lights etc on.
the weird part is, another car in my garage had the same thing happen ...
there was a car in the middle of both of us that was in an accident, and was there for a couple of weeks, this morning, that car is gone and both the cars next to it, have their batteries drained...
really weird.... could there have been some kind of power surge that could have drained our batteries ??

The battery on my 03 GTI also died after one year of ownage. The dealership told me it's due to the heat in arizona

my battery hasn't had any problems in the past two and a half years, and ive been running a complete audio system for almost the entire two and a half years. you also have a carputer right? maybe it didn't shut down?

that is really strange how your car and the car on the other side of the one that was in an accident both has discharged batteries.

I would start to look into replacement before it leaves you stranded, mine went from fine to dead in a matter of minutes and it happened at Zdays in the midle of the mountains with no parts store nearby luckily I have a MT and there are a lot hills there. I had returned froma run on the Tail and stopped to clean the car out then they asked us to move and the car started fine I moved the car sat for a few minutes and decied to turn the car off after about 20 minutes with nothing on in the car the battery was completely dead and would not recharge after that I coule leave the car on for anhour and nothing it was dead and no signs that it was going mine was 33 months old and 31k miles.

Hey Warren, my battery died after about 10 months.. totally discharged.. It was acting really weird after I put in my carPC.. I'd get wild voltage readings..then 2 months later during the coldest day of the year--kaput!!

I have an Optima yellow top now and everything has been fine..
