Strange sound when at hight RPM's
 

Mostly at take-off. The noise sounds like its coming from behind the center console gauges. Its hard to describe the noise. It sounds like something dull is tapping very fast but only when you hit around 5500-6000 RPM's. Any suggestions because I know my service dept. will just give me the runaround?

I'm getting the same sound.. does it happen when you let off the gas as well? Thats when i notice it.. Haven't called Nissan on it yet, let me know if you find something out.

It only makes that sound when I give it full trottle around 5500 to 6000 RPM's

I should of read the forum better. I just posted a question in regards to a noise I'm experiencing. I too am getting an odd noise, but mine sounds totally different. It not a tapping sound, but a mechanical sound. Its hard to describe, but it kinda squeaks. The only thing that comes to mind when I hear the noise is like the sound my motor in the side mirror of my old car would make when I would adjust it. It only last for a second or two and only on the accelerating end. It happens like clockwork. I just gun it and theres the noise.

i heard a strange, mid to high pitched "tone" that stayed at a fairly constant volume for at least a minute last night on the highway. i noticed it somewhere between 90 and 115 mph. i had turned the radio off to listen for anything strange because it was the first time i had pushed it on the highway. it went away and i couldn't get it to come back. i guess i'll just have to keep the radio off for a while. i must say that it was one helluva ride though. i also pushed it with the traction control off for the first time, it was like driving a totally different car. woowoo!!!!

Try turing on/off your a/c mine makes that noise when my a/c is on. I think its a blower or a motor
