Nissan Recall on 52,400 350Z's
Anybody see this?:
http://www.cars.com/go/news/Story.js...=&aff=national Affects all '03 and '04 Zs and Gs. When do we get our letters? |
Wonderful...I gotta make yet another trip to the service department. God forbid car companies stop cutting corners at every possible step. I mean c'mon...do it right the first time.
|
Someone made a post about this a couple months back. If I remember correctly their post said recalls would not start until early '06. I have not received an official letter from Nissan either.

Looks like letters will start going out mid Feb. |
Yes. Campaign Number: 05V555000 Date: 2005-Dec-13.
|
At least they are doing something about it. I'll have my 22,500 mile check up within a couple months, so hopefully I get the letter before that. What's cool is they keep making my '03 more like an '06 and I don't pay a dime:-) All I need is the head and tail lights to complete the work!
|
What about an '05 with an '04 build date. Would the recall apply to it.
|
"recalling 2006 IS 250 because the accelerator pedal sticks on a plastic pad in the carpet." :icon14:
You'd be driving down the freeway in the traffic and then gun it to cut into the next lane thinking you'll let go off the gas to adapt to the speed of the traffic, but then you get a surprise when you let go off the gas and the car keeps charging at full throttle :icon11:. I think you would be a bit upset :icon20: |
I never got my engine and cooling recall notice. Should i wait or just go to the dealer and get it fixed?
|
I am starting to wonder about the quality of nissan cars. I am sure that BMW owners don't have these problems.

anytime you want you can go to the service writer and have them run the vin. any open recalls will show up and you can get them taken care of. |
fuel hose recall question
A question for you Z car experts. Will the fuel tank need to be removed to replace the fuel filler hose. I located the rubber hose section today while looking under the wheel well area, but could not tell if it could be replaced without removing the tank. Checking in the service manual shows many steps to remove the tank and some of them include items I would rather my dealer would not do. I was hoping someone could shead some light.

Fuel hose recall? Do you have a TSB number for this? First I've heard of it.
