High pitch sound when going around 78 and in the 80's
 

Has anyone else noticed that when going around 78 mph and higher and giving just enough pressure to the gas pedal to maintain speed that there is a whine coming from somewhere?
I don't hear it when accelerating after maintaining the speed, but when I go back to maintaining I hear it again.

I took a long trip this weekend and kept hearing a high pitched whine when going around 80+. It sounded like gear whine to me and it didn't really bother me, just noticeable.

It's gear whine. You can tell by the way the sound "bounces" on and off when you change throttle position. Also happens right at 70 mph on my car to a lesser extent.

Kind of annoying since I like to cruise at 80, but hey, it's a sportscar.

Is it possible that it is the same as I heard in mine?:confused:

A couple of days ago I noticed some high pitch sound as soon as i hit 120 mph. But I doesn't sound like gear whine... it sounds like some sort of alarm :confused: its odd and annoying, because its kind of loud, and it seems that it only sounds at 120 mph+. It just starts sounding. Is not that progressive sound getting louder, it just starts sounding...

What the hell could that be????

Noise must be tranny.
