I suggest reading my post here:
https://my350z.com/forum/maintenance-and-repair/215900-a-5000-mile-oil-change-interval-2.html

I changed my factory fluids at 3,500mi and then switched to Royal Purple 10W-30 and a K&N oil filter. I ran this setup at a 4000mi interval, and on my last change I ran 5,000mi and drew a sample to send for an oil analysis. They suggested per this setup to run my next oil change for 6,500mi.

One thing to remember, our 2006 engines are consuming oil, mine consumed 1 quart of 5 quarts over a 5,000mi interval.

On January I got my Z, it now has 2,600 miles. Is it time for an oil change or should I wait till it hits the 3,700 miles?

Follow the service intervals recommend in the owners manual. The people who wrote it are pretty smart.

1 quart in 5k miles is not bad at all, just some mild blow-by

Well, I'm out of the country most of the time (USN). That's what happens when you serve your contry.
