I'm getting shocked...ouch!
Lately, I've been shocked everytime I step out of my car after I drive it. It's been dry here in So Cal, maybe that's why. Or could it be something else? Grounding issues maybe?
|
I wish I had powers.....:(
|
Yeah, the dryness does that to you. Touch the car through your jeans or something to avoid the spark. Also remember to touch the car before you begin to fill up the car with gas. I am sure you don't want your nickname to be "sparky" do ya? lol

You want some cheese to go with that whine ?
|
|
I agree.. its the dry weather coming in with Fall.. and +1000000000 on touching your car before filling up the gas tank! I think there was a video out there of some girl who didn't..

+1 it's dry in socal lately

I get shocked quite often too. Usually I try and touch the car as quickly as I can to avoid anything harsh. During some of the dryer parts of the season I build up so much static electricty that you can see a blue arch from my finger to door handle.. Those really really hurt!! You can even hear it pop.
|
Haha Wired, now I have to wonder if you have a problem with static with a user name like "Wired". Haha, sorry couldn't resist the stir.
Cheers Bronsee (na, just doesn't quite work, will stick to my normal favo"u"rite colo"u"rs) :) ;) |

try getting shocked on ur nipple man that felt nice..
it hurts more then getting ur finger shocked. results of shocks http://www.sikvid.com/vids/3058.html probably repost but it belongs here imo |
I had a big problem with this too, all you have to do to not get shocked is put your hand on a metal part of the car, like the edge of the door, before you slide arcross the seat. Your hand has to touch metal while you are getting out and should be the last part of you body to come in contact with the car. Once your foot hits the ground and your out of the car the charge wont have a chance to jump and shock you as long as the hand stays on metal. There are web sites dedicated to this just because it sucks so bad.

Now seriously to the OP, walking bare foot, on either a lawn or sand is the most ideal, will help a lot as the sand basically draws out the static electricity. I've never seen black sand in the USA, but it has the highest deionzing properties. As the previous poster has put there are sites devoted to static problems. Some people have a higher tendancy to build up static electricity, and wearing synthetic fabrics doesn't help. Good luck anyway. :) |
