VDC/SLIP/ABS lights are all coming on??

Ok, so all three of these lights come on intermittently and there is a popping noise that comes from under the brake pedal when the car is started. We took the car to the dealership and they said that the caliper was pushed in too far and tripped the codes. They said they reset it and should be good to go, but low and behold, 2 or 3 days later, the same thing happens.

I know that you can depress the caliper a good ways in, but really, how far is too far? Even still, after the car is started and the brakes pressed, that should get the caliper back to the "normal" position, right?

The car is scheduled to go back on Saturday, and I have a feeling they may try to throw the ole, "you're gonna have to pay for a new brake setup....that'll be $1500 please." Has anyone heard about this or seen it happen?

The only thing that changed was the brake pads were changed....by me. :o

No leaks and level still shows full? Good idea though.

What year TL did you get? I had an 03 which I bought at Mac Churchill in Fort Worth. I think I just figured it out. You got a 2006? Its a nice car.

We got an '07. Fuggers nice. They were wheeling and dealing on the last day of the year. :icon11:

Like I said...I have my toy and it's almost done. She was driving the 350z and she loves the TL.

I did like the Z. I'm going to be sad to see it go when we drop it off to Vandergriff in Arlington tomorrow.

wow thats so weird, I just test drove your old 350z!!!!

I was pushing it kinda hard and all those lights came up on a hard 1-2 shift (hence my search which turned up this thread) Needless to say, I got the hell out of that dealership when i saw the dash light up like a christmas tree..lol

The lights went away when I turned the car off and restarted it though.
