Dealer won't give a loaner car
I went to the dealer yesterday to drop off my car for a few problems.
1. Service engine soon light (yes I tried the gas cap) 2. Crack in windshield from a rock 3. Kick plate starting to come away on driver's side 4. Three small dents from rocks 5. Pull to the right/alignment problem slight but definitely there 6. Weather stripping around windshield starting to come away in one spot. Anyway, after going through the whole bit, I asked what type of loaner cars they had, the guy said that Nissan doesn't give loaner cars. He continued to say that only Infiniti did or if I had an extended service plan they might give me one. I told him I had seen many people on this forum who had received loaner cars and I also had a friend here in town with a Sentra spec-V get a loaner car when his ECU died. I guess my question is: have you guys been getting loaner cars when you take your car in for problems? |
Generally, NO.
A Nissan dealer can give you a loaner or rental car using the following methods: 1) Internal - Dealer Pays 2) Nissan Good Customer Voucher (Nissan Corp. Pays) 3) Nissan Extended Warranty - if you have one (Nissan Corp. Pays). I didn't get a loaner the first time I took my Z in for service. But when I took the Z in another time and they had the wrong part, they gave me a free rental under option 2 above. Best thing to to is ask the service manager. It's a good idea to establish a relationship with the service manager. Good Luck |
